McDonald’s bullied by the fat police

On Tuesday, the Center for Science in the Public Interest informed McDonald’s of its intent to sue to stop the fast food giant from providing toys in happy meals. The Center for Science in the Public (hereafter known as the “fat police”) say that the toys represent unfair and deceptive marketing.

“Multi-billion-dollar corporations make parents’ job nearly impossible by giving away toys and bombarding kids with slick advertising,” said Michael Jacobson, sheriff of the fat police.

It seems to be a ridiculous notion that parents are unable to make decisions for their children and have been completely overcome by slick advertising from McDonald’s. Even if this is true that McDonald’s forces the parents to go there they provide healthy alternatives to the standard happy meals that parents could buy. Hamilton restaurant removes silly urinals

For three years The Honest Lawyer in Hamilton, Ontario had silly ridiculous urinals in the men’s rest room shaped like open mouths. Then 8 months ago a women’s group somehow discovered the urinals and took offense to them, there is no explanation as to why the members of the women’s group were snooping around the men’s restroom.

However, once the cat was out of the bag, politicians and women’s right groups defended on the most important issue of the day, silly urinals, and eventually The Honest Lawyer restaurant gave in and removed them. Clearly there are no greater issues in which their energy could be spent.

“When we first put it in, it was just a joke, it was not gender-specific and it was supposed to be funny.” said operations manager Renee Roth.

Carls Jr expands to Vietnam

The first of twenty five Carl’s Jr restaurants opened Tuesday in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and this is the first major Western fast food chain to expand to this market.

Carl’s Jr continues to expand franchises in Asia adding new Vietnam locations to its existing stores in Malaysia, Singapore, and China. Additional plans are to expand into Indonesia later this year. The parent company of Carl’s Jr, CKE Restaurants currently has 342 international locations between Carl’s Jr and Hardee’s, and is looking to double within the next five years.
