This week’s restaurant pick, Hatfield’s, is a one-star Michelin award recipient. This means it’s a great restaurant, the food is consistent and has high standards, and is definitely worth a visit. So if you live in LA or the surrounding areas then this restaurant needs to be on your list of go-to places to eat.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to watch Jiro Dreams of Sushi, a 2011 documentary directed by David Gelb, then it is time to put that Netflix subscription of yours to use. The film is centered around 85-year-old Jiro Ono, the owner of three-star Michelin award winning sushi restaurant Sukiyabashi Jiro . It follows Jiro as he dedicates every waking moment of his life to create and perfect some of the most beautiful and enticing pieces of sushi that anyone would give their left hand to devour (seriously, I would give my left hand). It is a masterfully done film and has given me a new-found appreciation for the dedication and workmanship that goes into a master chef’s craft.
