Many American’s struggle with eating healthy.  It’s not a secret that we’re mostly overweight.  Right now – more than one-in-three adults are obese.  That trend is worse in some parts of the country than in others.  Surprisingly – the worst offenders are just west of the Appalachians and east of the Mississippi river.

Fast-Food Workers Go on Strike for Higher Pay

Posted on August 20th, by Foodio54 in General, Restaurant News. No Comments

Last month the headlines were abound with articles ridiculing the proposed budget for McDonald’s hourly employees making $7.25 hourly. The budget journal, a result of McDonald’s joining forces with Visa, proposed that its workers have two full-time jobs and pay as little as $20 a month for health insurance and $600 a month for rent. Now labor organizers are calling upon fast-food workers across the country to go on strike August 29th to pressure restaurant chains to raise the hourly wage from an average of $8.94 to $15. One-day job walkouts are expected to take place in New York City, Washington D.C., St. Louis, Milwaukee, and Detroit.

The spokesperson for the website promoting the event, LowPayIsNotOk.org, has stated that companies like McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King, Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut, Domino’s, Little Caesars, Subway, … Read More »

It looks like KFC is now trying to entice people to come in and try their new Grilled Chicken. They’re actually going to give away a free 2 piece meal up through May 19th as long as you present a coupon. This will definitely send me to KFC to try this out.

This also gave me a reason to see if this new chicken was a publicity stunt or if the grilled version of KFC chicken was actually healthy for you. So i went to check it out and this stuff is pretty healthy. Just a quick look over the nutritional info shows that none of the … Read More »

They’re taking chicken in a whole new direction trying to capture chollos and chicanos as well as well as their traditional african-american base.
