good
Best food i've ever had! Service was attentive and friendly.
by mgrand
I visited Bacchanalia's on April 6,2002. The food tasted wonderful until I got home and suffered the worst case of food poisoning that I ever had. I missed two days of work, and I regret that I spent mega buck on what literally went down the toilet. Sincerely, Scott Downer Cincinnati, Ohio

unbelievably overrated!

The food and service were excellent. Only a few disappointments, serivce felt rushed and portions (especially $10 extra for cheese) were on the small side.Wonderful experience for a special occasion.

Who among us has not had many satifying meals? delicious meals, comforting meals?..Bacchanalia however was the most exquisite dining experience I have ever had. atmosphere was quiet and elegant. Wait staff was attentive without being intrusive. Each course was superb..each taste experience flowed seamlessly into the next..Martini's were awesome..Even with Fixed Pricing the cost was not for the faint of heart but worth it for the total experience. If I had to say one thing constructive it would be that with fixed pricing there should be at least one steak that was not sold at a `premium` above the fixed price....that seemed a little disingenuous. There were lots of little extra that showed up at our table. soup, truffles, palate cleansers that really made you feel special. Since we at late on Monday there were tables available and we had the bonus of choosing free bread from the bakery that was closing for the night...If you are ready to pay and want the ultimate dining experiece Bacchanalia is the Place !!!

Just incredible! A four-course, fixed price dinner is served, with each course absolute magic. What a superb mixture of tastes! You'll leave with your wallet quite a bit lighter, but if you truly value fine cuisine, you'll feel the money was well spent. Wow.

The new location of Bacchanalia is just gorgeous. It's pris fixe with a $$$$ wine list. Never go without a reservation! The food is pretty incredible.
by localcolor
Excellent, one of the very best in Atlanta. Each course was scrumptious. It is very hard to get reservations without planning far in advance.

Take those guns away from Clifford! This fish has been shot? Tastes good though.

The food is incredible and the atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and romantic.I never feel out of place here. The only downside is that it's difficult to get last minute reservations.

This is hands down the best restaurant in Atlanta. The food is orgasmic. Alice Waters has nothing on you Anne Quatrano. Amazingly superb in every way.

The worst dining experience I ever had. Foie Gras Terrine/ Florida Strawberries/ Marcona Almonds (Presentation was a slab of foie gras with nothing to accompany it. The foie gras had a bitter taste to it and I made mention of this but no word from the Chef. Paula Lamberts Crescenza / Local Strawberries / Macerated strawberries / Balsamic Vinegar (Presentation was 2 triangular pieces of cheese about the size of a man's thumb nail and about a quarter inch thick. Same strawberries from the foie gras which had either been doused in some sort of unpleasant tasting liquor or had been left in the refrigerator for days until they created their own alcohol and became naturally marinated...again they had a bitter taste) Johnson Family Local / Spring Lamb Tasting / Slow Poached Fennel / Fennel-Green Garlic Puree (The trio of lamb consisted of a lamb sausage patty about the size of a 50 cent piece, 2 small Vienna sausage size fingerlings meat pieces and a larger size piece of lamb. The sausage patty lacked any unique taste whatsoever and felt it was just a greasy as a a Bob Evans pork sausage patty. The fingerling pieces had a pleasant taste but were not outstanding. The larger piece of lamb had a very tough gristle/membrane skin which made it hard to remove the meat from it. I ended up having to scrud

A lovely, if not transcendent, experience. I've always had a quibble with the name, though: dining here is hardly a bacchanal. It's a little too cool and calm to be dionysian -- maybe it should be called `Apollonia.`
by crlyq0004
One of the best falafels in town. Actually the best.

Here you can find the kind of cured meats, seafood and produce that personal chefs use to cook for the rich and famous. Or you can just get a really good prosciutto sandwich.

Prix fixe seasonal menu, beautiful space, great plating/presentation. First two courses set the bar so high that the rest actually disappointed. Still high scores for the place.

A shrimp po'boy with a side of Voodoo chips is one of my favorite lunch time treats. Pick up some cheese and bread for a late afternoon snack.

Great place to stop and salivate. Fill your little basket up with a bunch of stuff you don't need but dearly want. Killer sandwiches, cheeses, and procured nik naks.

Falafel sandwich is to die for. Fresh and very unique flavors.

The shrimp po'boy is one of Star's more popular to-go items. Pair it with a bag of Zapp's Gumbo Chips and a glass of Victorian Lemonade.

The Shrimp po'boy is made on a soft, toasted hoagie roll instead of NOLA's mandatory French-style bread.
by Creative Loafing Atlanta
Star Provisions isn't quite famous for its fried chicken, but it's a good option when you're there, especially for the value. A combo of breast, thigh, and leg will set you back about $6.50

Never order a cheese tray to go. I had to wait 20 minutes for it after they misplaced my order.

Pre-made sandwiches only on the weekends :(

Reminds me a little of Foster's Market in Durham. Nice place to grab lunch and sit outside.

For lunch: the shrimp po boy or the Reuben
by Girish J.
One of my favorite lunch places. In a hurry? You can grab a Prosciutto and Parmesan baguette and skip the line.
by Beth B.
The $85 prix fixe buys nothing short of quality, but you can order cheaper at the bar. However, the the farm egg with wild mushrooms was way too salty.
by Creative Loafing Atlanta
Great lime corn meal cookies!
by J Patrick M.
Try the pimiento cheese in the cheese shop and excellent cupcakes in the bakery. Also love the s'mores and shrimp po boy sandwich.

My favorite place in the World!!

The prices at this gourmet boutique may deter you, but the sandwiches – especially the unorthodox Reuben and shrimp po’boy – offer big flavor for an affordable price. [Eater 38 Member]

Would you like your tasting menu with or without truffles? While the price of magic isn't cheap, it's certainly worth it.

The coconut macaroon in the petit fours plate changed my life.
by Zubin
Best restaurant in ATL? So I heard, and tho I went a la carte at the bar, i don't doubt the claim. Gnudi, tuna crudo and the paramount crab fritter....silly.
by Zubin
A mature restaurant, but never a dowdy one. Bacchanalia has a southern aesthetic but by no means antiquarian, meaning country-fried sweetbreads with artichokes, and quail stuffed with mortadella.
by GourmetLive
I love gifts from the chef!
by Kelly H.
The Crab Fritter is still one of the five best things I have ever eaten. See hot home retail trends three years before they happen by browsing Star Provisions.

not widely known...you can order off a limited menu (instead of the pricey prix fixe menu) when you sit at the bar. bon apetit!
