Blogger Reviews of Uchiko
Been There Eaten That on Jun 12, 2013
As the season progressed and Austins Paul Qui stood out as a top contender, the realization grew that we would be able to dine at Uchiko, where Paul is executive-chef...
Is a great place to take a date to
Great HH, selection of HH foods make up about 5 choices and all are yummy and priced right. Nice bar.
by Sissy D.
Did the top tips Jar Jar Duck, brussel sprouts, & fried milk dessert. Amazing!
by Ande M.
Amazing food beautifully plated. And Uchiko is eco-friendly! A little pricey, but worth it.
Logan's a spectacular server--knows how to pair dishes with drinks. #nailedIt
by Kristen M.
Went here for my birthday this year & everything was so tasty! Each dish you order comes out one at a time, but you don't get uncomfortably full that way. And trust me, you'll want to eat it all.
by Laura B.
The Brussels sprouts are the best $6 you will ever spend. The most amazing thing I have ever eaten!
Listen to your waiter's recommendations...and try the brussel sprouts. ...they're actually excellent
by Douglas A.
Order everything and double down on the Brussels sprouts!!

This spot for Japanese farmhouse dining offers a discounted sake social in the bar.

A trip to Uchiko is a treat for the senses, with creative flavor pairings in dishes like rosemary-smoked duck with candied citrus or pork-belly-and-egg sushi. Decor is almost too beautiful to look at.
by Austin Chronicle
This is the best place to experience real culinary artistry for the first time. It's delicious and I think it's very fairly priced for the quality.
by Brandi L.

The Hama chili is the bomb!!!!
by Sixmarie M.
Soooo good! Love this place!
by Linny K.
A fantastic restaurant serving up fresh fish and highly inventive dishes, Uchiko may be off the beaten path, but is well worth the trip. Don't miss the Brussels sprouts!
Hostess used the phase "we actually regulate our sushi bar seating" instead of "please wait to be seated". How off-putting. The girl with short brown hair needs more training.
by Rachel W.
The sweet corn sorbet is to die for!
by Michael B.
The Brussels spouts are so yummy! Visit before 6:30 & try some of the items on the sake social menu.
by DarkSkin šŗ Q.

The hotate is deathbed, last meal-quality stuff. Order 100 pieces.

Simply brilliant! Sibling to Paul Quiās Uchi, get ready for some wildly creative Japanese food art! Stunning beautiful presentations & mind-blowing desserts! Understandably... space is always limited!
Sushi bar seating best in house. Hama Chili and Brussels Sprouts a must. Also love the Madai sushi. Favorite sushi of all time.

get there early - like real early if you don't want to wait. but if you don't mind waiting the outside patio is a cool spot to hang out and have a drink while you wait for your table.

with Paul Qui's recent Top Chef win and rise to celebrity stardom, we can no longer keep Uchiko's Japanese farmhouse fare to ourselves. [Eater 38 Member]
