  • rmlundvall reviewSab's is the best! I've been eating here for 20 years and I love that I still see the same faces at the front door (after 20 years, I know his name is vince and he's a great guy). The Bookmaker Salad, the Shrimp Renato & the Garlic Bread make for a perfect meal...give it a try...

  • dscherr1 reviewDisappointing is what happens when you plan a 40th birthday party for 12 of your friends. It has been a few years since I last had dinner and wish I had gone elsewhere to celebrate. 1- Our group of 12 adults was seated or should I say / crammed into seating for 12 children, surely not appropriate or enough space to enjoy dinner. How about providing enough space for 12 grown adults!!!!! 2- Smashed against the wall, I believe the dried food on the wall has been there for a long time - Hint - How about cleanliness???? 3- Our waiter and looking at all of the other waiters / seem to be playing the `Itailan` part (greasy/open shirt) - Who wants to look at sweaty/greasy people handling your food? Hint - Nobody!! 4- Food was passable - My dish was ok but for the pice $21.00 plus dollars for 6 shimp - excessive !!! Overall, the experience - dreadfull

  • ilovebooksstuff reviewAfter reading all the reviews, this looked like THE best Italian food in town. I guess my view of Italian food differs hugely from my fellow reviewers; the service was cordial and friendly - we ordered a bottle of wine which had been well cared for in their cellar and was pretty good. I ordered the mussel appetizer while my colleague ordered the escargot. The mussels when delivered were a little cool (must have sat around for a while) but tasty and the escargot were similarly cool, but lacked much flavor. Both of our main courses were, however, poor. My colleague ordered the fresh fettuccine with an alfredo sauce and shrimp; when it was served we were surprised to see the pasta was awash with sauce – normally in Italian food the pasta is well sauced but not drowned. I had ordered the veal saltimbocca which literally means “jump in your mouth” – not these guys. Saltimbocca is normally prepared with the veal rolled up – this was served flat, more as a veal pizza; like my colleagues dish this was drowned in sauce. The sauce was heavy on the wine but light on the garlic, the result was quite bland. If lots of hearty food is your desire, then Sabatino’s is your place; if you are seeking authentic Italian food, then look elsewhere.

  • lindahartman1 reviewNice setting, noisy, smokey. Waitress rushed, minimal exchange. Appetizers: fried calamari - tasteless, soggy, sauce good; spinach and olives - canned vegetable. House salad: came in helmet sized brownish plastic bowls, iceberg lettuce drowned in bland house dressing, ate 1/10. Entrees were deplorable: clams-white sauce on pasta was brown curdled sauce meant for another dish; chicken parmigania was cold, stiff cheese, tasteless; veal saltimboca looked like grey-brown stew and was extremely salty and tasteless. A side order of pasta and meatballs was tasty, a relief for hungry diners. This place has fallen into very poor management of it's food. Awful. We strive to be forgiving and circumspect, but this was a terrible experience.

  • dscherr1 reviewBest Italian food in Baltimore. Love the atmosphere, the staff, and the food. Have been many other places in Little Italy and nothing compares. Have a Bookmaker salad, a Baked Rigatoni, some garlic bread and a cannoli. The Veal Franchaise (sp?!?!) is awesome, too.

  • lindahartman1 reviewSabatino's is located in the heart of Little Italy. This is a great place for a romantic, inexpensive and filling (!) meal out. The Bookmaker Salad is a real treat and a definite entree in itself. All of the portions are hearty, the place is open real late and the waitstaff are really nice. I highly recommend at least one stop. Just be ready to deal with parking hell (Little Italy is known for it)!

  • Gregory S.I've been a long time fan of the salad dressing, but the praise stops there. Overpriced pasta at a restaurant that will need to overhaul its staff, menu, and atmosphere to compete into the future.
