  • poodah318 reviewThe food was absolutely fantastic and they were quick to get us a table for 8. However, it was entirely spoiled by the crudest waitress that I have ever met. Our table was composed of young accounting/business professionals and graduate students. At the beginning of the night we asked for the check to be split two ways and she said she would comply. She only refilled our water once at the beginning, and when the check came she had not split it as agreed. We resisted complaining and worked around it.Now here's when the horror comes in. We think we're helping her by writing down the amounts to be put on each credit card onto the back of the check, and the remainder is paid in cash. She comes back with our receipts and instead has split the amount evenly among the cards. We tell her this is not what we wanted and the amounts were written on the back of the bill. Instead of an apologetic `I'm sorry I didn't see that,` she fires back with a snappy `well no one told me, how was I supposed to know.` Frustrated, our friend said, `it's not like it matters to you since you've already gotten your tip.` (18% gratuity included for parties above 6). The waitress turns back to us, obviously furious, and says, `what did you say?`, and our friend says `nevermind` and apologizes. The waitress, in her mid 20s, snaps back with `look, your service was fine and no one told me...` She continues for another few minutes and another one of my colleagues has to stop her. The waitress walks away with one final remark to our friend who spoke back to her: `Yeah, you'll go far.` Excuse me?? I'm sure you can sympathize with this situation that entirely tainted our dining experience. The middle-aged hostess, possibly part owner of the establishment, came over after the majority of our party had already stepped out. `I'm sorry, but you have to understand, we're just trying to do our best.` Then hire competent individuals who don't threaten their customers with `not going far` in life.

  • cyclops3 reviewwe walked by this fleet street restaurant after eating at another north end restaurant to get to our car, and were so drawn by the cozy awning and pretty windowboxes that we went in to see for ourselves. the hostess was welcoming and let us look around and see the menu . we made reservations for the next saturday and have been going there at least twice a month since! the homemade tagliatelle is the best we've tasted. it's a real comfortable, homey place and you never feel rushed. we love it!

  • lilgurl0577 reviewWonderful restaurant to stop in and enjoy! Actively involved owner and terrific service! Thank God I found an Italian restaurant that knows polenta and how to serve it!! Sounds like it should be simple so why do so many Italian restaurants offer the same fare? Well, not this one! Thank you!

  • Bert R.The place advertises to be open until 10:30 on Thursdays. I arrived at 10 and they had been closed for awhile. I took at $30 cab to get there. Furious.

  • Jen K.Small, family-run Italian restaurant in North End. Almost too crowded. Food was good, not great. Server was exquisite! Perhaps went on off night.
