  • mkmora1 reviewMy husband and I ate at Legal Seafood, finding the seafood outstanding. For starters, I ordered Steamed Muscles to start out with, thinking I would get a half dozen. I was presented with a bucket mounded full of muscles, which were meaty and tender, not skimpy and gritty. My husband ordered a dish that had every imaginable type of seafood in it from Lobster to squid. And that too wasn't skimpy on the portions. Thinking he would get maybe 3 of each he was shocked to find tons of each on his plate. I had a steamed lobster, done to perfection. No butter needed, the lobster was so sweet on it's own. We aso enjoyed a Bananas Foster for dessert which was superb! My only problem with Legal Seafood was the service. Our waiter was rude and tended to `disappear` and forget items we asked for, such as a glass of water. Social skills were lacking. On a bill of $50+ the waiter only received a $1.77 tip (to round up to the whole dollar) from my husband with a note complementing the chef. I wholy recommend Legal Seafood because the prices were not too high and seafood was EXCELLENT. Just beware of the wait staff!!

  • cardfam2000 reviewLegal had always been an excellent experience. We had been away from it for a number of years, but starting 2 years ago, we became a frequent visitor again.I have experienced many of the other locations, and found them to be above most other restaurants. Favorite is the Chestnut Hill location. This has always been a dingin pleasure. This time out of town visitors happened to be staying in the Copley Square area, so we chose 100 Huntington Ave. The hostess decided to place us out in the corridor of the shopping mall which was not the atmosphere that we were looking for. Of course given the crowded environment within the restaurant with little or no ambiance, it was probably a better choice. The food was as usual excellent, but we have noticed that the prices have been inching upward. If you want to considerate this as a family type of outing, be ready to fork over a few dollars more than in the past. From the Scampi to the Seafood Ravioli, from the Sauteed Sole (watch out for the butter) to the swordfish you can't go wrong. One hint: Try the Lump Crab Dip to begin the meal. It is a very lite and tasteful way to start an evening of dining pleaseure.

  • mkks1 reviewThe shrimp and trout were both terribly oversalted, the broccoli was cold, rice pilaf is not even worth mentioning because it was so bad, and the jasmine rice had been tossed into a microwave and reheated. Really terrible--especially for the price we paid. The chowder has gone down in quality. The two good things were the freshness of the scallops and the new Rasam seafood soup, but the soup came to the table lukewarm and the scallops were too salty! Disappointing. This place used to be very good. Also, ambience is terrible--the lighting was so dim we could barely read our menus.

  • rachaelcom reviewI have visited numerous Legal Seafoods Locations many hundreds of time over the last twenty years. I can not believe how consistantly high the quality has remained, for so many items, at so many locations, over such a long time span. The help can be a bit snooty at times and the prices are a bit high, but it's worth every penny and more. Legal Seafoods get's my highest recommendation!

  • pataky reviewGot the clambake on New Years Day in Braintree. The chowder was just ok, the lobster and clams were so overdone they were like rubber. The baked potato tasted like dirt. The third of an ear of corn that came with it was like rubber. I will never recommend Legal and will never dine there again.

  • maryeats reviewthis restaurant is very hyped up but if you ask me it's overrated. Entrees were overpriced and portions were skimpy. Seafood stuffing sucked. Steamers were good but the chowder was nothing to cry about. Everything was too expensive for what you got, and salad or soup did not come with dinner which I hate. appetizers and salads were pricey. service was good, though, and great atmosphere if not a bit too formal-feeling.

  • a_spamtrap reviewNot good at all. I admit there may be a couple of decent plates, but not at all worth niether the price or the wait.

  • jlwest reviewFor the first time in many years I actually had a mediocre meal at your restaurant. I have been at all the restaurants, including DC airport and at the original in Inman Square, Cambridge. The fish was dry, the construction site was distracting. I was particularly annoyed about the $12.00 fee for parking in the garage. Apparently, one must enter after 5:00 PM to get the credit. The sign is not easily recognized if one is trying to manuever into the access ramp. As a Boston native, I would have parked elsewhere had I known...what a disappointment!

  • ddimarino reviewThis is a thumbs down for the Braintree legal. I had the calamari appetizer a week or so ago -it was terrible. It was just like a piece of rubber, I complained they gave me some not cooked as much, it was terrible too. Please remove this from your menu.

  • Brian S.Not bad for a chain. Decent crab cakes and lobster rolls. They could put more effort into the supporting cast of salads and soups. Kinda pedestrian.

    55555 by Brian S.

  • Seline JungNot as fresh as they sell themselves to be. But solid casual seafood when you're in the mood.
