  • ChefMozDom is the master hands down. Is he slow? Yes, but you do not rush art and the wait is half of the experience. I am a long time Brooklyn Resident and have hit all of the big names in this part of town. All I have to say is that this man makes the most complex multilayered pizza in New York, if not the country. He does this without the benefit of a brick or coal oven. What he does is create his pizza, on at a time, with the highest quality ingredients. You almost wonder why there are so few others who can do the same. You owe it to yourself to go there and get a pie (Sicilian or Napolitano, with baby artichokes or without) before he closes his hands you never have the opportunity to taste what pizza could and should be. On second thought stay away the wait is long enough already.

This man puts so much love into every single pie, it's almost ridiculous. Definitely worth the trip out there from Manhattan.Experience pizza as it was meant to be.   • ChefMozI lived on East 17th Street and Ave I from 1965-1988. I grew up on DiFara's pizza. I recently went back after a 10 year abscence. Dom sure looked older, but one thing hadn't changed. The Pizza is by far the best pizza in NYC. No where even comes close in my opinion. I had two regular slices and one slice with sausage. If you love pizza, you MUST experience DiFara's!

  • ChefMozI took a trip from Manhattan into Brooklyn just to try DiFara's (based upon various published reviews which rated them highly). Much to my disappointment, it was the worst pizza I've ever had. Born and raised in NYC, well-traveled and have eaten in 5 star restaurants world-wide, experiencing the gamut even to excellent street-vendor stands; I can be called the veteran "foodie." DiFaro's pizza was burnt, not enough cheese, and to top it off, the owner was counting cash from his register and went on with unwashed hands to kneed some pizza dough, preparing for the next pizza pie. If you haven't lost your appetite yet!!!

  • ChefMozDomenico De Marco is a genius at making pizza, nobody puts the work and time into pizza like Domenico does: "Buffalo mozzarella," freshly grated "Parmesian regiano," oil on the pie, it's absolutely the best pizza ever! And the man spins the pie with his hands... Word of advice:? Eat the pizza now, 'cause you're eating history...Also try the square pie, puts L and B to shame...
