Char No. 4 Reviews
The blueberry pancakes are bomb.
by Geno C.
The apple jam with the biscuit is sublime heaven
by Anna S.
Get a side of their house made hot sauce regardless of what you order. Put it on the biscuit with apple jam, if you're brave.
by Andrea D.
The brussel sprouts will change everything you previously thought about brussel sprouts. And make room for the pork nuggets.
by Bridgette R.
Whiskey bar. 'Nuff said.
by Sean M.
The best thing I can say about this already ballin place is they still serve food on Tuesday night after 11:30 when a hungry commuter from CT gets back to Brooklyn craving bourbon & eats
by Jason K.
Dan Bentley says "Char No. 4 is like if Fette Sau was a nice restaurant." That's high praise.
by Nick S.
Delightful southern food with some nods towards barbecue, plus an excellent bourbon selection.
by Serious Eats
Menu changes during brunch; pancakes now human size and super yummy
by Caprice K.

by RJ D.
Noreaster cocktail is delicious.
Lamb pastrami = thumbs up

Biscuits Benedict at brunch!!
by Kelli F.
Get the Pork Nuggets. That's a no brainer. Go there for brunch and get the shrimp and grits. It's pretty tasty.
by Algernon B.
Get the chipotle devil eggs.
Char No. 4 has real maple syrup and they cherish it just as much as you should -- they'll give you a tiny dish upon request. That said, their amazingly fluffy pancakes barely need syrup.
by Chris F.
Bourbon in bloody Mary's. Surprising good! Get one!
by Marie N.
Shrimp. And. Grits. Mmmmmmm
by Christina B.
Oh my god, the bourbon barrel aged Old Fashioned.
by Brian M.
Get anything with a side of bacon and sip your cup of coffee -- one of the best I've had anywhere.
by Tudor L.

by Chophel N.
Two words: lamb shank.
by Tara D.
Get the Bourbon Ting - Jack Daniels w/ Jamaican Grapefruit soda. Also the cheese curds!
by Vincent C.
This place has become a favorite by Jetsetter Lifestyle, the boutique style atmosphere and accommodating staff makes a great brunch. This is definitely JSL Approved. -The Jetsetter
by The J.
Try the girly whiskey drinks!
by Ericka C.
Cheese curds for that guilty fried food fix in the afternoon!
by Rumana S.
New Years Day brunch was delicious! The fixed price is the best deal. Our waitress was still under the influence of several substances from the night before.
by Katherine N.
If you are coming for dinner on a Friday night you should make a reservation.
by Oscar T.
Words fail me. I love this place so much.
by Jonathan R.
I've never been disappointed by their ever changing risotto. The salmon is killer as well.
by Alexis 👍.
Super yum. Great potatoes
by Michelle M.
Best key lime pie in Brooklyn!
by Alexis 👍.
This is what passes for French onion soup here. Really. Notice the absence of cheese. Pretentious bs.
by Damola A.
The smoked chicken is out of this world! And there is one shy and one grumpy bartender. Easy to spot. Overall great place. Love it!
by Brenda B.
Make sure you leave room for the Ice Cream Sandwich w/bourbon-caramel dipping sauce for dessert!!!
by Howard S.
Try the whiskey.
by Josh C.
Chopped pork sandwich. Do it.

The crab cake is no joke.
by Kyle B.
Think I'm in heaven...lamb pastrami ftw, closely followed by the super smoky (delicious) duck rillette...
by Jo N.
Brooklyn (Carroll Gardens): The brunch potatoes are incredible, or so we hear, and so is everything else! Food is about $10 – $15 or choose the Prix Fixe meal for just $16!
by Andrew P.
There's a reason the lamb pastrami has been on the menu for so long, and that reason is that it is fantastic.
by D. Bob
I have never forgiven them for getting rid of the blt sandwich
by Ally M.
The whiskey/scotch selection is one of the best if seen. The menu is homey and delicious. I can't recommend Char more highly. Glad to have another neighborhood go to.
by Emma Z.
Try the Pork Nuggets - Amazing! (via @Foodspotting)
Do not sit at the back! Looks like they needed to expand but ran out of money. Zero atmosphere and looks like a temporary solution. Beige on beige on beige.
by Simon M.
Order the grits with a side of sausage. Use the syrup from the sausage and add it to the grits. You're welcome.
by Eric R.
Food is mediocre at best. Pretty bad service too. Lamb pastrami and bacon appetizer were good but that's about all I'd come back for.
by Rebecca K.
Get the pork nuggets. Good brunch, great bourbon selection.
by Constantin K.
While there's an emphasis on bourbon-inspired barbecue food, Char No. 4 goes above and beyond. Try the house smoked thick cut bacon and the house cured lamb pastrami.
by The Food Sluts
Gluten-free friendly. The waitstaff was really knowledgable.
by Sara F.
Try the Braised Short Ribs (via @Foodspotting)
150 kinds of whiskey on tap. do it.

Whiskey, good whiskey
Best brunch in cobble hill, I love the bacon cheddar grits & cheese curds, but I miss the latkes! Those were awesome!
by Kaite K.
Used to be my favorite brunch spot, Sunday bar service has declined significantly.
by Alex T.
Best Bar to Order Something Older Than You
by Arthur M.
Kings County moonshine and cheddar cheese curds. Dogs and cats, living together! Genius.
by Girl F.
Disappointed, the service I'd poor and they must have a new chef as the food is on a downward spiral
by Jason A.
Mention you are a friend of the "dos hermanos" and get free bacon and gravy with your purchase is a 40 oz of Wild Turkey
by Alex O.
Try the Deviled Eggs - The pickled onion is the cherry on top of these fabulously creamy, smoky bites. (via @Foodspotting)
by Amy C.
Here for brunch? Get a Chipotle Bourbon Bloody Mary. Do it.

If you're there for brunch, do the Prix Fixe (add bacon to the grits). If you're not there for brunch, come back for it tomorrow. No, really. Mind blowingly good.
by Saneel R.
We love the Classic Cask 20 year, but at $150 for 2oz, it is a little pricey. For something splendid without the high price, try the Woodford Reserve. If whiskey isn't your thing, they also have wine.
