Penny Cluse Cafe Reviews
The food is always fresh, tasty, and colorful and the staff is great. I go there at least once a week and have tried basically everything on the menu. The soups are always great, and they do everything near perfectly.
The first day, I had the egg dish with the polenta. I was disappointed with the polenta as it was a little too moist and had little flavor.I decided to try it again the next day, but decided on the biscuits with herb gravy, which was absolutely wonderful! I wish I could find a recipe for it so I could make it here at home. They should bottle it and sell it for those of us who live far away.
The food was really fresh and very flavorful. Though the wait was long, it was well worth the wait. Everything, right down to the biscuits are homemade. You must try everything on the menu.
Sometimes it is great to sit at the counter and watch the flurry of activity amongst the serves and people. Local Vermont art is displayed monthly on the walls.

Homefries are prepared with butter, but fellow vegans can sub a giant fruit plate for just $1. Try the Tofu Scram with peanut-ginger sauce and extra veggies mixed in.

although the biscuits and gravy are always delicious, sometimes first thing in the morning the biscuits are a little stale- first batch of the day would be a major win!
