  • doodawday reviewWe ate at Hominy Grill last night and thought it was incredible. They have gotten a lot of favorable press from New York Times and all the big food magazines and, surprisingly enough, lives up to the hype! The menu is short and simple--totally unpretentious. Everything tasted really really fresh. The service was sweet and attentive. We would definitely go back!

  • Patrick W.Big Nasty Biscuit, if its still called that.

    22222 by Patrick W.

  • Marek B.Good food, great atmosphere, AND you can totally watch out-of-towners struggle to understand the concept of grits.

    55555 by Marek B.

  • Tracy S.Delicious! Definitely try the She-Crab Soup - it's worth the trip for! Also tried The Big Nasty & Shrimp & Grits. End it all with delicious & light Buttermilk Pie!!

    55555 by Tracy S.

  • Michael H.Shrimp and grits are great

    55555 by Michael H.

  • Justin R.Came for lunch. Grits were nothing special. Grouper special was good. Sweet potatoes were solid. Swordfish and sauce was terrific. They were out of their famous chocolate pudding. Great service!

    55555 by Justin R.

  • Nick P.+1 for the pudding. Not your average chocolate pudding.

    55555 by Nick P.

  • Jim C.Omelettes are fantastic. Nice staff. Best breakfast in Charleston

    55555 by Jim C.

  • Charleston D.Staff very knowledgeable.

    55555 by Charleston D.

    22222 by Culture C.

  • Maia M.Love the hot pepper appetixer!

    55555 by Maia M.

  • Michael D.The previous recommendations to get the Big Nasty biscuit are dead on. It's fantastic. Add fresh ground black pepper rather than Tabasco, it compliments the sausage gravy better.

    55555 by Michael D.

  • Jinet N.Friendly wait staff, great food. I can vouch for the Shrimp étouffée, Big Nasty, Mac n cheese (extra delicious), shrimp n grits (so flavorful), mile high biscuit with jam. It was all so good

    55555 by Jinet N.

  • Smash Box Mobile KitchenGet the Big Nasty...Best gravy I've EVER tasted!

33333 by Smash Box Mobile Kitchen

  • Jennifer Leigh W.Their biscuits are the most bland I have ever had. And, believe me, this Southern girl knows her biscuits.

    55555 by Jennifer Leigh W.

  • bernard s.xBEST Shrimp & Grits!

    55555 by bernard s.

  • JesseIn comparison to the other brunch places I tried this vacation in Charleston, I found the food here to be just mediocre.

    55555 by Jesse

  • emmaI've had better grits. The double cut bacon was tasty- never met bacon I didn't like though! All in all I didn't get all the hoopla!

    33333 by emma

  • John R.Cheese grits, ftw.

    55555 by John R.

    55555 by Kiki B.

  • Annie J.Whats all this hype about the chocolate pudding?? The hot fudge brownie is truly amazing!! Also, shrimp and grits is fabulous!

    55555 by Annie J.

  • Todd K.Very disappointing experience overall. I had high hopes but the wait staff was not helpful and it took 45 minutes for our meal to arrive...and then one of our meals was stone cold.

    22222 by Todd K.

  • David B.Shrimp and grits are fabulous.

    55555 by David B.

  • Teddy S.Chocolate pudding 👍👍👍

    55555 by Teddy S.

  • Talia R.Squash casserole is light & airy, service is friendly without being overbearing. Meh on cornbread, the very early 90s style composition of the plates.

    55555 by Talia R.

  • Nadia S.The shrimp and grits are not "amazing" as so many people claim. They must not be from the South. They're ok, but overpriced and I've had much better for cheaper. Shop around for Southern food a bit.

    55555 by Nadia S.

  • Sarah G.Deep friend cheese grits are a must. The chocolate pudding is super tasty, but plan to split it with someone!

    55555 by Sarah G.

    33333 by Leland S.

  • Jack K.Get the Coconut Layer Cake.

    55555 by Jack K.

  • David H.Neither very big nor at all nasty, The Big Nasty was a knife and fork-worthy biscuit. The chocolate pudding is indeed what all the reviews say. Very much all-home-made and very tasty.

    33333 by David H.

    33333 by Ryan G.

  • Caroline B.So yummy for brunch, but seriously packed most of the time. Call ahead or at least don't come famished! On Saturday and Sunday the wait is often an hour. Totally worth it though!

    55555 by Caroline B.

    55555 by Denise C.
