The meatloaf is great, and the cornbread makes my mouth water.

One of the most friendly places in Charlotte, a great way to start a weekend is with breakfast at Mert's. I like the southern faire: fried whiting fish and eggs & fried green tomatoes.

Cornbread!!!!

Huge disappointment in this establishment as the food was average at best. I noticed that most of the positive comments were made a few years ago, so I can only assume the quality has gone downhill.

The food is just average. The salmon cakes I had were barely seasoned. The macaroni n' cheese was good. The sweet tea was ok. Service was good but I probably won't go back during my stay in Charlotte.

Southern and Low Country dishes prepared with heart by owners James and Renee Bazelle at this Uptown favorite where everybody takes out-of-town guests. It's Charlotte's version of NYC's Sylvia's.

Incredible cornbread! Had the soul sampler. Chicken fingers are way too salty. Beef ribs are smokey and tender. Friendly staff.

It only took 15 minutes for our awesome waitress to take our order! Hopefully the food makes up for the poopy service....

Great food at an affordable price. Definitely a true taste of the south! Free parking (up to 2 hours) at the Holiday Inn next door. Just give your parking ticket to your server and they will "comp" it

shrimp and grits was incredibly unseasoned.
by Patrick F.
Really, really lousy waitresses! I mean, the kind that gets you Mac & cheese, twice, when you specifically asked for mashed potatoes. Great food though!

Recommend the biscuits with honey butter and the home fries which are actually roasted potatoes. Had the smoked pork chop special and it was small but delicious.
by Alyx H.
Friendly service. Great BBQ ribs and sandwiches. Fried chicken not too good. Way to dry. Sides are awesome
by Arcangelo A.
It was ok. Aside from the longggg hair my friend pulled out of her c. Greens. We lost our appetite. They need to wear hair nets!
