Eating For Sanity on Sep 19, 2013
Their spin on red beans and rice includes the New Orlean's style red beans slow cooked with chicken andouille sausage, peppers, and onions. It is ladled on top a bed of white rice, served with two eggs over easy, and I opted for the corn muffin.

Fabulous food and great experience...everytime...Enjoy!! JAM

Hands down, Wishbone has the best cheese grits north of the Mason/Dixon line. Coupled with some eggs and blackened catfish and you'll have the perfect weekend breakfast!Great restaurant, notable service, tight quarters, and good Mimosas. What more could you want?

WHEN EVER I GO INTO CHICAGO I MAKE IT A POINT TO HAVE BREAKFAST OR DINNER AT THE WISHBONE. I LOVE LOVE THE FOOD
by prbarile
My holiday vacation was made more splendid while experiencing the culinary masterpieces prepared @ WISHBONE's. Beginning with corn muffins, continuing with the ham 'n grits appetizer, which became my MAIN course even AFTER I had ordered the BLACKENED Chicken; then there's the succulently-scrumptious bread pudding. SIMPLY DIVINE! DECEMBER 2nd 2004 == September Reese ==
This is an excellent restaurant. Being born and raised in the south, this is just about as close to Mom's home cooked Sunday dinner as you can get. I even brought my friends from Georgia when they were visiting, and they loved it! The atmosphere is a lot of fun, too. Enjoy!
Food truly out of this world and of this world at the same time! Fresh, well-seasoned home cooking. Been going to Wishbone for years to enjoy the cafeteria line at lunch (table service available, but chatting with the ladies from the kitchen is not to be missed), pre-opera dinner, and the occasional late breakfast. For reasons I've not figured out, Washington Street FAR superior in service and in atmosphere to the Lincoln Ave branch. Even if it feels out of the way, make the trip to West Loop. You will not be sorry!

Food was wonderful. I am from the South. Their food was some of the best I have tasted. It was well prepared and presented. It seem to have that extra flair that you expect from a great chef/kitchen.
I visited Chicago for the first time last weekend. My friend picked me up at the airport and we went straight to `Wishbones`. He said it was a wonderful restaurant with great food and a nice atmosphere. He was right! The only thing I can complain about is that I didn't buy a t-shirt...how can I get one now! PLEASE HELP. Thank you. Cindy

Not only is the food the best (just like grandma used to make .. BEST), but the hospitality is 5 Star.

I was not pleased with the Mardi Gras buffet they offered on 2/28/17. Plus, I thought it was pricey at $24/pp. Plus, the Hurricane was not very good. I've had better experiences at Wishbone.

Grits are a trending taste this week and you can get some damn good ones at Wishbone. You really want their classic shrimp and grifts. If you're not a fan of seafood, the cheesy grits are great, too.

Shrimp and grits were a little on the blander side but what can u expect from grits. The moonshine cocktails are where it's rly at. $6 a pop and plenty of the good stuff to get u going.
