If your looking for Prime Rib, this is a great place to go. However, don't expect a large menu or much of a choice. Very good service and in general, a very good experience.
Very similar to the House of Prime Rib in San Francisco.

I ate at this restaurant many years ago and remembered it as a good place. Recently, I went back and they ran out of prime rib. The Manager was very considerate and arranged for us to eat at Gibsons and picked up the tab. The rest of the staff was not as helpful.

Lawry's provides fun and class in a meal. The food is top notch, and the atmosphere is perfection.

We like to celebrate at Lawry's. The atmosphere is elegant but also inviting and festive. It's also an excellent value for what you get.
We made reservations for 8:00 pm on Friday July 14th. We arrived a little early, we are both diabetic and need to eat to keep our blood sugar up so as not to go into a diabetic shock. Upon arriving we were sent to the Bar to wait, no bread or any food is served in the bar. Several couples came and went, we were still waiting. I checked with the reservation desk. They said we would be next. Another 20 minutes and several other couples being taken to dinner and we had to leave to find us something to eat IMMEDIATELY.I think that this is very inconsiderate and extremely unprofessional.Kathi OKC

Our hotel recommended it on our visit in June, and we decided that it would be worth driving from Milwaukee another time ! We are looking forward enjoying another dinner in August!!

Fabulous! We were visiting from Orlando and went there for dinner. Our server, Miss Caruthers, was awesome!! If you like prime rib, this is the place to go. Marcye

After a nearly two hour wait to finally be seated, I was expecting to be `wowed` by a fabulous prime rib dinner. The meat was flavorless, the `famous` salad entirely forgettable, the yorkshire pudding almost as fluffy and tender as the leather on my shoes. Save your money, this place is highly over rated.
I am originally from Chicago, and now live in Des Moines. When we visited this summer, I took my family there for dinner, and we all loved it. The service was exceptional, friendly, and the food was wonderful.

The finest. My husband and I spend our vacation time searching for the best Prime Rib and Lawry's is ranked #1, and trust me we have tasted alot of Prime Rib. The meat is very flavorful, the best dinner salad I have ever tasted, and the service is fantastic. It feels like a trip back in time. A real treat. Nothing compares.

I sent a couple to Lawry's for dinner. I prepaid in advance with a credit card (entire bill, gratuity, 20%, and valet. I wanted my guests to have no expenses at all. Reservations were made, credit card accepted, and all was fine. They had dinner on Saturday, September 3, 2005. On Sunday, I heard through the grapevine that my guests had left a tip, as well as paid the valet. I called Lawry's immediatly. I was told by the manager, Wayne, that he investigated and that my guests were well aware that everything was taken care of. This statement is a lie. Unfortunately, I had to call me guests to find out the real story. They told me that when they asked for the check, the waitress told they it was taken care of and walked away. They wondered about leaving a tip. They waited for the waitress to go by. The gentleman told her that when he leaves a tip, he usually pays the bill. He questioned whether to give her a tip or leave it on the table. At this time the waitress should have said that gratuity was also taken care of. She told them to leave it on the table. This waitress was deceitful. When speaking to the manager, he was very rude. Said that he would not investigage further, would not call the waitress a liar, and what would I like to do. I was so taken aback, I had no answer. Should I call my guests a liar. He assured me that many people leave an extra tip. I assured him that this couple was not in a position to do that. They probably dipped into their rent money. I love Lawry's. This was the most embarrassing experience I have ever had. As far as the valet, the manager admitted that it was overlooked. I asked for the corporate office's number and was given a wrong number on top of all this. Please advise where I can get some kind of satisfaction. I think that the waitress and manager should be fired!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the most disgusting place I have ever been to. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. The beef is low-grade and fatty and the service is snobby. DON'T GO and tell your friends not to go!

This is now our favorite restaurant. I never even liked prime rib until I ate at Lawry's. Now I won't eat any other prime rib. Nothing compares to everything including service, side dishes and dessert. Thanks for having such a fabulous restaurant.

Enjoyable!I very much enjoyed my visit to your city. I had a 'feel good' time.
Service was excellent. The quality of the food was MOST disappointing and certainly overpriced for what it was. We had only one day to spend in Chicago and so the special meal we thought we would have, based on your wonderful reputation, was a huge blemish on an otherwise perfect day!

Excellent prime rib! Service is upscale and efficient. Menu is limited, so if you are looking for something other than prime rib, look elsewhere.

Try the Prime Rib: The big bowl cut - 24oz of meaty heaven. (via @Foodspotting)

The bar area has really good sandwich options that are almost as good as the restaurant entrees at almost a quarter of the price. If you're on a budget, take a left as you enter!

The main draw in this retro room is juicy prime rib served off stainless-steel carts. It comes with “spinning bowl salad,” Yorkshire pudding, mashed potatoes, and creamy horseradish.

Miss Hodges was a wonderful server. Recommend her to anyone who comes here! Just awesome!

Avoid Lawry's altogether unless you really can't find anywhere else to go. Service poor, value poor. Not nearly as good as we had hoped.

Does no service count as bad service?

This place is a throw back to the past. The reason you go here is for the kitschiness. The food is above average, but the wine list needs some work.

Fantastic place for prime rib in Chicago.

Any cut is delicious. English cut is great for lighter appetite. Big bowl is for those who haven't eaten in days!

Prime rib here is awesome. The sommelier Shannon is incredible.
by Cole J.
THE best prime rib I've EVER had, period.
by Frank
The prime rib platter is fail-safe. Lawry's cornfed beef is aged 21 days and roasted on a bed of rock salt, producing a succulent slab of meat with well-developed flavor.

If you are a prime rib lover like me?! Then it's a must you come here to eat cause the PRIME RIB here is amazing in taste and the service great!

Great $12 sandwich bar during lunch time.

Any cut of the prime rib is delicious. The spinning salad is amazing - and you gotta love a stainless steel self contained meat delivery unit on wheels.
