  • sheyenne reviewOne of the World's BestTru is by far the most exquisite, impressive dining experience my wife and I have had in years (and we had just been to CT's). The cuisine was absolutely flawless and presented with such panache & style as to be breathtaking. The originality and creativity were spectacular. For food of such calibre, the portions were generous. Great cheese cart and stunning desserts, too. The service was impeccable and the ambiance scintillating. This place merits a 5-star rating! We have been to many top high-end establishments in the US and France (Michelin ***, etc.) and find that Tru beats them all.

  • lilly904 reviewTo whom this may concern, My husband and I and 3 friends dined at Tru last night. I've never felt so ripped off in my life. I don't know how you could charge $17 for a cocktail!!!! That was the most egregious rip off. The food was good, but $90 for 3 courses of relatively small portions was outrageous. Three of us didn't like any of the offerings of hors d'oeurves, although 2 of us ordered 1 any way - the 3rd had a salad.....$90 for greens, meat and dessert!! Outrageous!! I've already told several people about our experience, and they were stunned with the $17 cocktail fee. Maybe we are the exception as the place was just about full on a Mon. night, but I think you should consider adding a 4th course of salads without raising the price. Also, the rolls were hard, and no flowers on the table or even a candle.

  • chip_ross reviewThis is a good place to go if you can expense it. If you have to pay for it yourself, it's really not worth it. I went there two days ago and am still embarrassed that I spent over $400 on dinner for two. Seriously, it was $440 for two people with one bottle of wine. I do love to eat out and I appreciate great food, but there is no way anything can live up to the price. In fact, the entree's of our Seafood Menu was very average. The other small - really small- courses were good but there are only one bite in size. The service was overdone. I could barely carry on a conversation because there were at least two servers at our table every five minutes. The noise level is non-existent. I think I heard a ghost of music, but it was so quite I was afraid to speak. The waiters felt it too as the whispered at us. The room design was like a page out of the room and board catalog, not very inspired. Oh, they do give you a little footstool for your purse... big deal. Most of the food was really good, but the whole experience was cold, antiseptic, overly fussy and not worth over $400. It just was not a fun night out dining, which is one of my favorite things to do.

If you like dining in a hospital environment, this is the place for you since it's all white and if you prefer to see gold fish swimming around the bottom of your appetizer rather to enjoy the real food, this is the place. We felt the food wasn't that good to justify the huge price they charge. Their wine steward was not too knowledgeable either. Don't waste your time here and go somewhere else.

Life is short and good things are priceless; but paying $ 75 a bottle for a wine which retails at a local store for $ 12 is a crime. The food is good at TRU but over priced a party of 6 cost me a little over $1300.00. That is a lot and eventhough it was a pleasant experiance, But by no means justified the cost. If I had to rate the food I would give it 8/10, thr service 10/10 ambiance 7/10 and value 6/ 10.

I am certainly glad I didn't have to pay to eat here.I think this restaurant has an interesting atmosphere, a great wine selection, and a superb wait staff. I only wish the food was half as good. It is certainly prepared and served artistically, but for the price I would like something that actually tastes good. Both times we were served a caviar amouse buche that nobody found tasty. I had vension with an olive reduction and cocoa sauce. The meat was good but, the Olive reduction was so-so and I am really glad I had wine to wash the taste of the cocoa sause out of my mouth. I did have a scallop plate as an apetizer that was fairly good. Well we really enjoyed ourselves both times we visted Tru, we are going to pass on future invites. The quality of the food just isn't worth our time.

Our head waitor, Michael, was very sophisticated, yet warm and knowledgeable. ALl of the wait staff were attentive and let us set the pace in a relaxing way. It was obvious that they have been trained to anticipate every dining need of the guests.The food presentation was fascinating. Tastes were superb. Our overall experience made us eager to return for another special occasion.

  • rudy3 reviewMy wife has always wanted to go to Tru and so we went with her sisters last weekend.Everything was great! We all went for the $95 3 course menu. The food was one delightful surprise after another with many things between the courses. The first course is an appetizer (you choose from six lines), next is an entry (again a choice of six) and the last is either a dessert or cheese selection. The staff was extremely nice and pleasant. The decor was very elegant but maybe not as warm as I might have liked, and we couldn't find the restaurant at first because we could not see sign. But overall, this has been one of the most memorably and best dining experiences we have ever had.

  • ChefMozI ate here during the week of the food and beverage convention, and this was one of the most incredible meals I've ever had. After finding out my husband and I were in the industry, we were even given a tour of the kitchen! Top notch and worth every penny.Going in, I was most interested in Gale Gand's desserts, but I ended up being most impressed with the creativity of the appetizers and entrees. I ate so much that I literally thought my sides would burst. And every bite was worth the resultant stomach ache.
