Blogger Reviews of Geja's Cafe

  • 50 States of Wine on Jul 02, 2013

Geja’s makes dinner easy; their four-course Premiere Fondue Dinner includes a cheese fondue appetizer (one type of cheese, no choosing necessary), Geja’s salad, assorted fresh vegetables and eight classic dipping sauces with the veggie oil fondue (or veggie broth, but…), followed by a flaming chocolate dessert fondue (with marshmallows to toast!).

  • ChefMozMy wife and I flew in from Boston that day just to go to Geja's Cafe (the 9 year anniversary of our first date). We put our name on the list at 6:30pm and at 9:30pm still had not been seated despite checking in with hostess on occasion. Not one employee apologized or sympathized with us. So we left (my wife cried all the way to our car). Wrote a letter, and the owner's response was indifferent. My wife and I both worked at restaurants to know proper response to such poor service. Worst experience ever at any place of business.

  • Roy M.Make reservations if you expect to get seated. Very iffy with out reservations. Expect to spend at least $50 per person without alcohol. Food is excellent. Service very good.

  • J.d. When are they going to add hot dogs to the dessert menu? When you roll them in the chocolate sauce and graham crackers, it looks just like kitty poop in a litter box.

  • J.d. I am surprised that there is not more screaming here from the hot boiling oil.

  • Chicago magazineGruyère fondue gives way to seafood, aged beef tenderloin, vegetables, or all three, which you bubble in hot oil at the table. For a sexy finish, dip fruit into a pot of flaming chocolate.
