Eating For Sanity on Jan 02, 2014
Having eaten congee a countless number of times, I couldn't believe I never had fish fillet congee. This "asian porridge" is made with rice cooked down and sometimes ground which is cooked in a chicken stock and then plenty of ginger, mushrooms, and scallions are added.

The prices are a little steep but the service is very good.
by John C.
Great dim sum. Amazing seafood and exotic meat selection.
by s p.
Everything here was amazing. Simply the best Chinese food I've ever had.
by Tim B.
Dim Sum is great here and the price is great. Short wait even when busy
by Brandon
Got the pork rib, potstickers and young chow fried rice. All good!
by Adam B
Dim-sum place downtown and they do a good job of accommodating other dishes for their Cantonese diners
by Nauman N.
Amazing dim sum! My recommendation is to arrive early for weekend dim sum to avoid waiting for a seat.
by Samantha Hill
The food was really good. Went for dim sum. Pot stickers, steamed buns, shumai all really good. The service was not very good though. Pretty slow to respond to requests if at all
by Ninah Randolph
The quality of the dm sum wasn't so good, the textures were quite slimy.
by Luca T
Pretty large menu. Delicious food.
by Angélica K
A bit disappointing compared to the one in Chinatown
by ISC C.
Authentic. Open late
by Richard F.
definitely one of the nicer/cleaner chinese places around the area with good food
by Lily
Great dim sum. Fresh made. Ordering from picture menu (no traditional carts), and too much sugar in the sweet dishes...
by Attila Kovacs
Head to this massive complex in Chinatown square for perhaps the best dim sum in Chicago. There's also a new location in Lakeshore East.
by Eater
Make sure you come early to avoid the line for dim sum!
by Debbie Y.
Cai is so much better. Sorry.
by Christine S
Good dim sum but the service sucks
by Samantha L.
The best Chinatown restaurant for live seafood, BBQ, and Chinese cuisine in general. There's a reason why they've been expanding like crazy in Chicago.
by J G
Best dim sum in Chicago. Recommend egg yolk pao, shrimp dumpling, siew Mai or pork dumpling, egg tart, char siew pastry.
by JY
Love it :)
by Lala J
Great place for dim sum and mains like their fish and tofu dish come out bubbling hot
by Raeleen M

Pretty good dim sum is served here. The shrimp spring rolls were particularly delicious.
by Albert L.
The food was good, but the staff was disorganized about or reservation.
by Lee A.
I came here with a Chinese friend, he said it was good and authentic but I didn't like the food
by Ilaria

by Calvin Multanen
Dim sum is... Okay. Nice atmosphere though, and a large menu.

by Sean R.

by Claire Pistek
No carts, just pre order dim sum.
by Julia🍔
Everything is good here! One of the best places in Chinatown. Lots of seating.
by John J
Good choice for dim sum in Chinatown. This is one of the nicer spots with good service and quality food.
by Melissa A.
Best dim sum.
by Jenny Lui
Really?? Why is steamed rice roll called "crepe".. Consistency of congee is good but it's bland. Taro puff 8.5/10. Shrimp dumpling 7/10. Crepe 7/10 too because they just can't get the thickness right.
by Celestine T.
Lobster! Need to spend a Minimum of $180 to reserve a private room. But still very good if you have a part of 10+
by Bo Y.
Macau pork belly is soooooooo good! Great place for dimsum :)
by Uyen Tran
One of the best dimsum places in Chicago! The late night dimsum option is great, but the selection is more extensive in the daytime than at night.
by Teresa
Dim sum! Egg yolk buns! Omnomnom!
by Amber P.
An awesome Cantonese fine restaurant, but not good for dining alone, even though the environment is comfortable.
by Guanlin L.
Dim sum everything, the egg yolk buns are amazing. But the pork belly is overrated
by Karsten McVay
Gr8 tasty food
by Eric D
Dim sum is delicious! Been getting dim sum for 10+ years in Chinatown and this is by far my favorite! A little more expensive than some others but dim sum is still inexpensive. Great staff! Clean!
by Sara
Run away. Dim sum is atrocious. Shot is of the chee cheong fun I spat out because it tasted like disinfectant. Stick to Lao You Ju.
by subtitles f.
Patrick Sheerin, chef of Trenchermen, eats here on his nights off. He loves the Macau style roast pork belly.
by Chefs Feed
Amazing Dim Sum! But be prepared to wait 30+ minutes if you come around lunchtime.
by Anamaria H.
BBQ Pork tenderloin was good
by Kenneth W.
Long lines... Get a number and be prepared to wait
by Sarah Chang
Quality Cantonese restaurant. Dim sum menu close at 3pm. Regular menu is good.
by Pocket Sun
Great dim sim! Macau pork is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G
by Angela L.
"Go-to" dimsum place!
by Caroline
The crackly skin attached to a juicy barbecue duck and a slab of “Macau” pork belly is like a primal call to fans of Cantonese-style roasted meats, and we’d recommend both.
by Time Out Chicago
Have been going here regularly for a while and yummyy 🍴
by Mery Lù M.
One of the best dim sum houses I've been to in Chicago's Chinatown.
by David S.
鲍汁鲜竹笋,皮蛋瘦肉粥
by P L.
Excellent dim sum.
by Tonee D.
Love the udon noodles with pork.
by Marty R
Beijing duck is horrible. Nothing to do with a real Beijing duck
by Ralf T
They don't give fresh almond cookies. If the table next to you doesn't eat theirs, they will put them on your table next. Gross.
by Janell B
Great option for dim sum. Friendly service, too.
by Michelle F.
OK after eating it all I have to lower my 7 out of ten to a 4 out of 10. The jook was way to water down. The challenge sue bow is OK at best
by Kevin O.
I would say 7 out of 10. I have had dim sum all over its good but I still like the Phoenix better but nice worth the return.
by Kevin O.
"Jews flock here for the fish balls — and some of the better dim sum in Chicago. Try the barbecue pork crepe, pan-fried turnip cake, and sizzling fish head served in a stone pot."
by DailyCandy
Get there early on Sundays and order the pork belly and sticky rice 2x
by Raje E.
Better ambience than Cai. I find dimsum are more flavorful - distinctly from each other. However, Cai's creamy egg yolk bun is the best!
by Ricel A.
Late night dim sum starts after 9pm. Shrimp crepe dim sum only in the am. Macau pork belly is a must try. $4 Cabernet was shockingly delicious!
by Michelle J.
蝴蝶骨黑椒牛柳豆苗煲
by P L.
The sesame buns can't be beat!
by Diana G.
Will try soon
by Kim T.
Great dim sum! Has an easy picture menu where you mark off which dishes you want and they bring it out to you. Bolo bao (pineapple bun) is my favorite.
by Tiffany L.
Macau-style roast pork: Featuring a golden-hued crust, as crispy and crunchy as it looks, with white and mild meat, this is pure gluttony with no chaser.
by Serious Eats
I hosted a party in the back dining area this past weekend for 28 people. Everything was perfect! The manager sent me a proposed menu far in advance for approval. Both food and service were wonderful.
by Matt R.
Just found out today that they validate parking at the parking lot under the train tracks. $2 for three hours.
by Bernardo T.
Best Dim Sum... ever.
by Rosalee
Great dim sum . Pork belly was amazing. Roast duck. Chinese vegetable w/oyster sauce.. 11 different plates for $66 for 4 people. 25 min wait, but well worth the price and food . Super busy @ lunch.
by San ti S.
Excellent variety & great atmosphere. Steer clear of the prime time weekend rush though.
by Simon S.
the best place to have dim sum ..the taste is very original ... but dont go during the weekend ... has to wait forever ! have a brunch with some friends during the weekdays is a great choice.
by Winona Y.
Ridiculously busy on sundays
by Courtland H.
Get a group of 10 and ask for a private dining room with karaoke
by ISC C.
If you're going for dim sum on the weekend, call an hour before going - otherwise you'll have to wait a while.
by Darrick C.
Hands down best dim sum place in Chicago
by Judy Z.
Definitely try the pork belly that everyone raves about! I found the staff to be attentive and friendly.
by Amanda G.
Had a fabulous dinner! EVERYTHING we ordered was awesome! And the service was EXCELLENT!!!! Very happy with food, service, and price!
by Tricia L.
Since you are so close go check out Jason's Deli. Pricy but delicious.
by Joe D.
Amazing dim sum with 63 different items to choose from. My Taiwanese father said it was the best dim sum he's had, even better than what he used to get back in L.A. Worth the wait to be seated!!!
by Jonathan C.

OK, OK, I was upset about the lack of Dim
by Bill B.
I was very unsatisfied and disappointed. We came in for Dim Sum and they no longer serve it! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE
by Bill B.
The food and decor were both great, but the service was atrocious. I have never had such horrible service. Our waiter was, by far, the worst I've come across. Ever.
by Rick A.
Love the general tsao chicken!
by Ray L.
Try the Dry Chicken Chili! but hold the MSG
by Paul S.

by Feb R.

by Antonio R.
Amazing dimsum! All day long !
by grlscoutgonebad y.
Try the Macau pork belly from our 100 Best list: Chef Wu Ming's made us care about pork belly again, accomplished by crisping the skin like candy and cooking the flesh into silky submission.
by Time Out Chicago
My current favorite in Chinatown. Love the decor, and the food matches it as well.
by G S.
Time to put Phoenix and the terrible service out of their misery...come to MingHin!! Best congee in town btw.
by Louis W.
there were 13 of us & we had a great private room upstairs. Very nice dim sum restaurant.
by Mary Kay H.
If you're hungry DON'T come here. SUPER long wait, horrible service, and the food takes forever to come out and sparingly at that. >_<
by Tammy L.
Look out for hair... Happened twice already. And this one waitress ignores you when you ask her for something. She hears you and acknowledges it, but turns away like,it never happen.
by Karen C.
Thought you'd want to know: Bai Ming Wu has been nominated for Breakout Chef of the Year in Time Out Chicago’s 2011 Eat Out Awards. Vote now!
