Our first guac was the tocino. Imagine bacon, roasted sweet potato, tomatillo pico, serrano peppers, and topped with fried sweet potatoes... can't go wrong! The other guac was called pera. This one had pears, chipotle meco epazote, and pico all mixed in.

Worst place to enjoy Mexican food it an embarrassment calling it Mexican or even TexMex more like Taco Bell... Just overly priced for a $10 meal... I rather go to PEPES or Lalos for better food.
by Jorge B.
They play (good) EDM all day, all the time mostly House and Melodic Trance. AND the Margaritas are awesome.
by Maurice W.
Very loud and sceney, but there is no doubting the soft handmade tortillas.
by Serious Eats
Langosta and pork belly tacos were scrumptious, and who would pass up guacamole with bacon in it? Not this fat kid.
by Andrew B.
Great tacos, guacamole and cocktails!
by Lafa V.
Another snarky place that makes a party of three wait until the 4th has arrived when you could be serving us drinks and letting us enjoy the evening. What silliness.
by Duncan K.
Offering 15% off lunch and Sunday brunch during Uber Chicago's CHILOVESuberX, 9/20-9/22.

Their guac is simply magical! Highly recommended their strawberry refresco and the manchego pancakes!
by Rohini J.

by Gwyan M.
Yummy pork belly tacos and mahi mahi tacos! Margaritas were the best in town. The EDM was a good touch (:
by Deanna M.
La endalada verde con pollo esta muy bien. Los ceviches necesitan sal.
by GOM _.
The steak taco (as well as everything else on the menu) is fantastic! Accidentally asking a Bull's player to take your group picture is also kind of cool.
by Jennifer M.
Margaritas - amazing! They look small, but they pack a punch. The guacamole is superb, can't go wrong with any taco selected. Great service, get a reservation, the place is small, fills up quick!
by Scott S.
It was okay, you cant have dinner on your lap. They sat us downstairs and didn't have a actual dinner table. Next time ill say no to downstairs :(
by Nancy L.
Lobster cervice. Mmmm.
by Trisha T.
Always trust the special. Original and best cocktails. Ceviche is amazing. Guac is also! But the tacos...to die for!! Perfect collaboration of heat and flavor!
by Melissa P.

Best hangover cure ever...thank you!! Will recommend to everyone!!
by Barry J.
They should make their items order-able from my smart phone by adding them to the app "appay biz". That way, I can order ahead using "appay"!!!!!!!
by George W.

by Karla M.
Zomg. Where do I begin? Best speciality tacos and guacamole. Had some blueberry Margarita with a salt and pepper rim. Service was impeccable and crowd was out of a modeling cast for vogue? Miami also.

Eater says try the Cookie Cutter ($11) made with gingerbread rooibos tea-infused Herredura reposado, Ferrand Curacao, lemon, Negra Modelo beer and garnished with bourbon smoked sugar and orange peel.
by Mary Kay H.
The b.n.g.t.m. (big nose goes to Mexico) isn't worth the additional cost over a traditional margarita, even if it is on fire.
by Will L.
Order the pastor tacos and the chile de árbol salsa.
by Will L.
Fancy mexican food and the perfect spot for a Red Bull Rita!
by Red Bull

When I tell y'all there's Jesus in the shrimp taco's at Mercadito... I could die now. My life was fulfilling enough.

Have the baja tacos for lunch. Nice portion and delicious. The mango refresco is tasty too.
by Nan P.
I've never been treated as bad as I was treated this afternoon in "el mercadito"
by Georgina D.
No recomendado para turistas, trato despectivo y una espera larga mientras veíamos como daban mesas a otras personas. Penoso
by Georgina D.
Best music ever!!! And mangoe guac!!
by Deepti S.
FYI: You can't mix and match the tacos on the menu, so you have to order three of the same taco. Service is slow. The shrimp tacos are great, guacamole is good.
by T H.

by Paul D.

by Jamie W.
Sweet potato guacamole.
by Luke M.
delicious mexican food. order carry out though unless u like the smell of fake tan and hair spray. the river north douchebag and hot mess club has claimed this as their own.
by merrick b.
Went on a Friday night, so it was really loud, but service is quick. Guacamole wasn't something to write home about, but tacos were great.
by Mitchell W.
The carne tacos are amazing. Opt for a beer or a glass of wine and skip the watered down margaritas
by Kristin N.
Mmm for Mercadito... I recommend all the taco's especially camaron shrimp tacos & the pollo ones. The dorado mahi mahi ceviche is delicious...
by M B.
Great bloodys
by Bernie M.
Carnitas tacos here are made with a unique twist.. Delish!
by Roosevelt Collection
Two types of guacamole, two types of ceviche, three types of tacos and a personal dessert are included in the $22 lunch. With beverages, dinner is rounds out to an even $40.
by Time Out Chicago
Try the different salsas, so very good. Fish tacos are amaze, and their margaritas trick you into thinking you're drinking juice. SO GOOD.
by Réjane P.
We'd love to go everywhere during Restaurant Week but can't. Show us what you think we should eat the next time we're at Mercadito with a picture of your dish. Tweet it to us @motorola. Happy eating!
by Motorola M.
With a bold interior and hip vibe, Mercadito is definitely cool. The tacos, however, are hot.
by Thompson Hotels

by Chris A.
Bring your wallet. $$$ for rice as beans. Great food.
by Lennon C.
Tequila lounge downstairs is small but tons more quiet on Saturday nights
by Louis B.
The cumin salt rimming this cucumber-laced "pepino el pyu" tequila drink will smack any hangover to the curb. Here, bartenders make hoja santa into a syrup to add an herbal finish to each sip.
by Time Out Chicago
The Little Market cocktail has pineapple and chili and it's served in a chili-smoke rinmed glass. It's terrific.
by @scottkleinberg
Pastor tacos are sweet and spicy. Awesome choice.
by @scottkleinberg
Casa Noble...only organic tequila. Coniacish

Try the estrellados y tampiqueña from our 100 Best list: We order steak and eggs, and we challenge you to find a better, more fairly priced version than this aggressively seasoned $12 skirt steak.
by Time Out Chicago
Food is great, service is awful. Order food Right away or wait a half hour while your waitress has a convo with her friend... water costs mucho dinero here, don't order club soda
