Tina's Reviews

  • My husband and I decided to go to Tina's for a combination birthday/anniversary dinner after hearing how great it was. We are very sorry now we went to Tina's. We could have had a better meal at one of the restaurants we usually go to. When we first arrived, we were greeted promptly and seated by a somewhat friendly man.Once we were seated up came one of two waitresses we were to have. This first waitress was not very friendly but at least she did try hard to fake it. The second waitress started out okay but then for whatever reason, decided she didn't like waiting on us and developed an attitude. The attitude was very visible since we could see and hear how she interacted with the other customers in the restaurant. Definately not interacting with the others the way she was with us! So, we ordered our cocktails and appetizer and continued to look over the menu for our main course choices. We decided on our meal, ordered, and set to waiting for our dinner. First, the appetizer arrived along with our cocktails. We ordered the Salmon spring rolls, which were very good! The cocktails (a Cosmopolitan and a drink named El Presidente') were also good. Next came the Corn soup. All dinners at Tina's come served with bread, soup or salad. We chose the soup. It, along with the bread was also good.By this time, we were anticipating how good our dinner would be based on the appetizer, cocktails and the corn soup. What a disappointment when the main course came. I had ordered the Harris Ranch New York Steak. It arrived cooked to order- medium rare. It looked good except for the portabella mushroom slices that were placed on top. The mushrooms looked like they were from another planet. I've had Portabella mushrooms on my steak before and definately know they aren't suppose to look like what those mushrooms did! Next when I cut into the steak, I found about half of the meat to be surrounded by 1/2" of fat! I also have had New York Steak and it know it doesn't ever have this much fat on it. The steak was served with all things - French Fries! Now I knew fries were to be served when I ordered but thought since Tina's is suppose to be such a great restauant the fries would at least be a little different than the ordinary french fries one is served. To top it off the fries very, very salty and burnt! My husband ordered the Halibut. The menu stated it was to be served with vegetables and topped with Salsa Verde. The halibut arrived cooked appropriately , served on top of kernel corn. Salsa Verde was no where to be seen. The entire presentation of this dish looked as if the fish had just been tossed out of the oven onto a pile of corn in the middle of a plate. The fish and corn were the extent of my husband's dinner. By this time being completely disapointed, we had decided to avoid a scene (as I said the waitresses weren't very friendly), finish our dinner, pay the bill and leave. We have decided it will be a long time if at all before we will return to Tina's. By the way, this meal cost $ 91.00 inc. the tip. We could have paid less and had better food at an everyday restaruant.
