  It was the day after Christmas, 2006 and this restaurant was playing all James Brown music over its intercom to commemorate the passing of The Godfather of Soul the previous day. And well it should because in between the mouthfuls of great barbeque, the music made the experience more poignant. The link between food and music is more than coincidental, since the restaurant walls are lined with vintage posters of legendary concerts. The one announcing a Miles Davis concert in the 50’s lists John Coltrane as a band member, there was one promoting The Battle of the Blues between Howling Wolf and Muddy Waters, and a third lists Chuck Berry and The Doors on the same bill at the Fillmore West. The pork ribs and baby backs are excellent, but don’t overlook the whole roasted chicken because it is every bit as worthy of your consideration.
