The menu was unimanitive; couldn't contact watress for drink refill, and the atmosphere was good enough. Overpriced !

It may not live up to its reputation, but it is a much finer restaurant than most reviewed in this section. Certainly among the top 10 in Grand Rapids.

Service is always horrible. Food is just average. People think of this as one of Grand Rapids finer restaurants, but it is not. Waitstaff is rude, food overpriced. Nice view, though, if you can get near a window.

Came with a large group and waiter refused to seperate our checks `because the computer could not do it`. Waiter spilled salad dressing all over a friends dress and was very rude and slow. Meal was extremely slow in coming, small portions and not equal in quality to the price. I would never eat there again!!

This is one of the more expensive restaraunts in Grand Rapids (my Sister and I took my Parents there for their wedding anniversary. Appetizers, Dinner, and Champagne for 6 people was $150. Take into account, though, that we were ordering near the top of the menu in honor of the occasion). The food and service here are of the high quality that you would expect from a restaraunt in this class.

I haven't been there in a few years. However, I can tell you that, last I was there, everything was wonderful. Our server brought us a pâté with matzo for us to snack on while we waited for our appetizers. She was most helpful in our wine selection and was very friendly. I ordered the escargot which was placed in a flaky pastry and covered by a garlic-herb butter sauce. The escargot was fabulous. Tender and full of taste. For the main course I had the Shrimp Danielle. This was a bed of rice pilaf that covered the entire dinner plate with 10-14 garlic shrimp placed in a ring on top of the rice. For desert I had a crème brule which was made to perfection, exactly the correct consistency. Others in our party ordered pastas made to order from scratch and fresh catch of the day. There was not one single disappointment amongst us. Our drinks never ran dry. Our server was there when we needed her, and not over bearing. There was a very extensive bar selection. We felt very welcome and well taken care of. I had visited 'The Crab' many times a week for years. The ambience was lovely with wall to wall windows over looking the terrace and the river. Live light music from the piano by the foyer filled the restaurant. The valet parking was a very nice addition and at no extra cost to the guest.

We enjoyed a weekday lunch here. For $15, I ordered the New England Clam Chowder and a shrimp and artichoke pasta. Both were very good. Service was friendly and efficient.

We like this restaurant for a nice upscale Happy Hour. Able to sample some of the better foods without paying a hefty price like at dinner. Watching the river and friendly staff

Very expensive for very average food. 4 entrees, no one loved their entree - shrimp fresca very dry and bland - disappointed for sure!

I've been here multiple times and it's been very inconsistent from great to not so great

The Sicilian calamari is very good. The 4sq special for it is one of the best specials I've encountered anywhere! Definitely try it if you were thinking about it ;)
