My wife and I eat at San Chez often, and the food and service are consistently very good. Casual, upbeat atmosphere and fast, friendly service make this our favorite spot downtown.
by Deception99
Want some fun? This is geat - dine on small portions of hot or cold tapas passed around the table. One of our favorites.
by oldwilly
Fantastic place! Wonderful food, service, and atmosphere. A definite yes!
by Deception99
Most unusual restaurant in town. Great for groups!
by symorebutta
My mother and I came into Grand Rapids not knowing a thing about it, and the concierge at our hotel recommended San Chez for dinner. It was absolutely the most exquisite dining experience for a restaurant under five stars. Incredible service. Our server knew the menu from top to bottom. Try a Mojito and the chilled tomato and cucumber soup to start, you will be pleasantly surprised!

Everything! You can't go wrong!

Great Meatballs and Crab - beer selection was great. Service = excellent. Happy Hour 2-6
by Justin Locke
Great food. The tapas style is however a unique one, so don't expect a traditional plate.
by Matthew N
One of my favorite restaurants of all time. Great date place, sit at the bar and watch the chefs prepare dishes! Waitstaff is always quick and very friendly. Try the Bistec con Pimienta!

Everything is great. For real...everything!
by Nathan S.
All the tapas is top notch. There are a variety of wines that you can order by the glass.
by Adrian H.
Great date night place if you're feeling fancy. Food here can get pricey and the drinks aren't the greatest, so split a few plates and grab drinks elsewhere.
by Katy
Loved the Michigan mule-perfect ginger spiciness. My fave plates were the alcachofas (grilled artichoke hearts) and the calamaritos fritos (squid, serrano ham & pork belly). No free bread.
by Jen F.

Overrated... The food is really good, but you will spend a ton of money for very little food. Glad we went once, but never again.
by John D
Great food!! Loved it.
by sherry K
Watched them cater a wedding. I was not impressed by the one server who was wearing shorts and high top tennis shoes no socks or footies seen. Also not impressed by another server skipping .
by Paul G
The sangria was light and refreshing. Service was great and the small plates kept us from over-endulging...too much! Perfect place for sharing and sampling. Try everything!
by Maureen S.
As long as this restaurant has been open it has been my favorite place for a quality night on the town. The menu changes but the great tasting Tapas are always a treat!
by James R.
EVERYTHING!
by Alyssa Bird
Way overpriced! The food was good but it was $65 for lunch for just two people and we did not leave full. Also the iced tea is garbage and they charge $2.50 for a fountain drink. Won't be coming back!
by Wade C.
