I was a regular patron of the Canoe Club. I made a reservation on Tuesday for a Friday dinner for six. When I arrived the pompous owner informed me "we have double booked...actually triple booked...and have no table for you." No effort made to honor my patronage.Never will go there again.

Recently while visiting schools for our daughter we found the Canoe Club. I expected nothing out of the ordinary but was delighted with a true dining experience. We truly love food, and have high standards. I am typically jaded about restauraunts like the Canoe Club. The ubiquitous Main Street grill and watering hole the Canoe Club is not. For the price they charge it is difficult to really provide great food. The Canoe Club is the exception. They provide not only great food but amazing value as well. When you eat out as much as we do you begin to accept that amazing food can't be found unless you are willing to spend a lot. The Canoe Club is obviously a labor of love and provides innovative and unique food that reflects the passion of the owner. Bravo and three cheers. However, it's not only about the food for me. I can, and do, make great food at home so when I eat out I expect great service and pleasant surroundings. The Canoe Club gave me the feeling I was enjoying something genuine, and not contrived or manufactured, from the moment I walked in. The Adirondack lodge theme was welcoming, and as comfortable and relaxing as the real thing. It feels like the retreat we dream of. The service was clearly a priority to the owner John whose presence and watchful eye seemed to keep the staff on point and on task. We live in Orlando and with the numerous, vacationing never to return again, dinner’s service is never without an issue. I love the Canoe Club. If our Daughter does not go to Dartmouth I will need to find an excuse to go back, and if she does she's staying for grad school.

Having lived in San Francisco the last 7 years, I was very impressed with the Canoe Club and the fun atmosphere. I went there a couple years ago and enjoyed it so much that I made sure that my husband and I would return when in the area. We love the food- highly recommend the soups and cod! The service is great and the staff is very friendly and professional.

Over priced food that needs work. I went there a few years ago and the food and service were the best in the Valley, last time I went 4 months ago so different. People everywhere there were too many people and service was terrible and I wanted much more out of the food for the large sticker price on it. Do not waste your time.
