You go to Amanda's either for a slab of beef or, if you don't want to feel slow the next day, for the many other dishes that Chef Rodney Petersen prepares. Try the appetizer of mussels or the wine grower's salad to start. For a main course, try the duck special or one of the fish entrees. The best desserts are combinations of fresh fruits or berries with tasty and unusual ice creams -- for instance, cinnamon. There are two wine lists: the regular list, which everybody gets to see, has the more accessible wines; the reserve list, which is shown to you only if you ask for it, has the finer wines. Mostly the wines are from France, California, and the Northwest, with some Australians and Chileans. Eugene Flinn, the proprietor, who really knows and loves both food and wine, makes sure that his clients are served well and leave satisfied.
Amanda's is the best overall restaurant in Hoboken with outstanding food, service and decor.
The early dinner was fantastic- make a reservation for 5 or 5:30pm Mon-Sat & get a 3 course menu for $16 per person! Great deal & delicious food. Get the key lime pie for dessert!

food was okay, but ambience was very conducive for dates and families

Best brunch in town and it's on our Super Bowl Fan Guide's list of best cheap eats in Hoboken for Super Bowl week 2014.
Make sure you get the Bordeaux 2009, an excellent year for French wines
Amazing ambiance salmon is delish
The spicy shrimp salad is refreshing, light and flavorful.

Good place for brunch. Very spacious inside, so good for groups. The bread basket is warm and fresh. Their french croissant toast is really yummy!

Eggs Benedict with salmon. Absolutely deliscious. Adorable wait staff. ;D

Their beet salad is wonderful. Service is also great and the decor is upscale home-y.

Ask for the cheese platter at the end of your meal. Not on the menu. It's quite generous and delish

The sirloin is humongous and delicious. It's even big to big eaters. Everything tastes amazing, including the carrots. Absolutely delicious if you can afford. Highly recommend
Amanda’s stays fresh and accessible with a menu that's updated regularly and with an early-bird special that's so inexpensive you'll swear someone made a mistake when printing the menu.
crispy eggs...just delicious!!!!

You can't beat the early bird dinner special. Gourmet cuisine at fast food prices.

One of the best brunch spots in the mile square (and affordable)! Eggs Benny are spot-on and this place is show off to your parents.
You can't go wrong with the Eggs Benedict.
by Linds P.
Surprisingly big on the inside (with private rooms and an entire downstairs), it's like being inside a friend's home... down to the tasty (and fancy!) homecooking.
Eggs benedict is a solid option for brunch. The "fresh squeezed" OJ is definitely not quite as "fresh" as advertised by waiter

Come early for dinner/wine special!
by Stacey G.
Great. Not as pricey as you might expect for this fancy. Make res and get here early enough to catch the specials.

KIDTIP: One of THE BEST nice restaurants to take toddlers/babies to in all of the NYC area. For some reason the atmosphere and food calms them too!

Amanda's = lovely atmosphere (think New Orleans antebellum townhouse), choice yet inexpensive wine list, thoughtful menu, and warm, proud owners. Worth traversing the Hudson for.
