The Pass Reviews
You can't go wrong starting your meal with the Ham of the Day. Everything I had was great, but he pork belly was the standout, even if you're tired of seeing pork belly on every menu. Great meal.
by Matt D.
Get the Blue Corn dessert!!!
by Desireé M
Sweet potato with pats Cabra and chorizo
by MoiseKapenda Bower
The Pass is high-end tasting menu. Provisions is eclectic new American--both creative. Dishes can be hit or miss but mostly hits.
by Christine D
Don't forget to visit the bathroom. You'll hear audio from Julia Child piped in to the communal sinks.
by Scott R.
Peanut butter soft serve is out of this world! A must try.
by Mary C.
Here for Octoberfestivus. Nice day. Nice crowd. Small beers.
by Clifton McAdams
Cresta di gallo
by Joshua J.
The Meatball sub is outstanding! We tried also the orange/curry strozzapreti. The flavour was good, but it was more a soup rather than a pasta and there were definitely too manu raisins
by Melania Spagnoli
The pizza is amazing and the drinks are outstanding.
by Damien F.
Drinks, pork belly
by Vy N.
Waffle and maple ice cream!
by Ashley A.
For a cocktail, Fist Full of Dollars was excellent. I'd recommend the pork belly along with whatever recommendations your server has. They know what they're doing.
by Michael L.
From the Provisions menu, the glazed pork belly and mushroom pizza are highly recommended.
by Marc S.
I enjoyed Provisions on my first time, but its problems became apparent on the second. The dishes were often expensive but rarely good, and I probably won't return.
by Jackie L.
Mushroom pizza is fantastic! Nomnomnom ;))) and bloody mary is for experienced drinker only, too spicy ;)
by Anastacia K.
At provision, try to reserve a table by a wall, corner or at end of a row so it'll be quieter. Trust me.

Try the tasting at The Pass if time and pocket book allow. Such fun, innovative and soulful food. Totally worth the splurge.
by travel4food
Food is awesome. Service is very good as well. Atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. One of the best restaurants I've ever been.
by Heydel C.
Provisions is the casual half of The Pass & Provisions, serving lunch and dinner six days a week in a Midtown/Montrose setting that's equally accommodating of jeans and cocktail dresses.
by Houston Press
Try a little bit of each category on the menu—it's all delicious. Roasted shishito peppers, ricotta gnundi, scamorza pizza…all amazing.
by Colin Dismuke
The Pass has garnered rave reviews from media outlets across the country since it opened in in River Oaks in November of 2012, and rightfully so.
by Houston Press
Inside track: The brand-new Saturday brunch menu looks highly promising.
by Houston Chronicle
Don't miss: Cresta di Gallo pasta with Hen of the Woods mushrooms; Burrata & Burst Tomato Pizza Bianca; soft-serve dessert du jour.
by Houston Chronicle
Inside track: Unsure if you want to invest $95, plus wine pairings, for the full-blown eight-course tasting? Get your feet wet with the five-course version for $75.
by Houston Chronicle
Don't miss: A glass of celebratory bubbles from the rolling champagne cart, presided over by expert sommelier Travis Hinkle.
by Houston Chronicle
The Cresta de Gallo pasta with hen of the woods mushrooms and Parmesan foam is a witty (and delicious) vegetarian riff on everything chicken.
by The Wall Street Journal
The Pass is a tasting-menu-only dinner spot, while its more casual sibling, Provisions, offers lunch, dinner and cocktails.
by The Wall Street Journal
Great place!!! Wiley Post (cocktail) and Bacalao Ravioli It's a must.
by Luis M.
Just spent my anniversary dinner here and it was amazing! Mocktails were great, and got 4 courses that were all fantastic. Every worker is super nice and the design of the place is amazing.
by Kara Thompson
English muffins with bacon, egg and sheep cheese, wow!
by Damaris R.
Please take note that most of the menu items are temporary and will change to something else over time. Also there is complimentary valet put in place to prevent against ticketing and towing.
by Leana D.
Awesome food and service
by Ernest P.
I'll PASS if anyone ever suggest to eat here again! BLEH
by John F.
Went here with bf for celebration dinner. Sat at the chef's table/counter. Great experience with Terrence - a co-owner. Fantastic food and cocktail especially the short ribs tortellini. We'll be back!
by Talya A.

The mushroom pizza is awesome
by Jacob E.
If your going to try a pasta dish, get the Cresta di Gallo. The parmesan froth is to die for.
by Tsilav B.
Love the Truffle Mushroom Sausage pizza
by Hank L.
The Wiley Post and bone marrow would have been enough. But the kimchi Brussels sprouts, gnocchi and cider donut took it over the top. Sit at the bar if you can, and watch the magic happen.
by Liz T.
Try the duck leg schnitzel for brunch, with foie gras grits. Need you hear more?
by Steve M.
Absolutely fantastic. Great service, superb food and drinks, and reasonably priced.
by Brian B.
Suckling pig!!!
by Adia H.
Get a reservation at the chef's counter. It's the best seat in the house and the chef is so helpful and personable. Also, try the lamb ribs...they're are amazing!
by Amanda K.
On AC's Top 100 List 2013: The Pass (2) and Provisions (60).
by Wings G.
Get the lamb ribs. Just do as I say, OK? You'll like it.
by Wes W.
Try the Wiley Post cocktail; it was refreshing and complex. The Pretzel Epi was amazing! Our server, Ben, was super knowledgeable & made the experience very satisfying!
by Amanda M.
The hen of the woods pasta is the best.
by Rudy M.
Everything is amazing on the menu, but you must try the beet cake! You won't be disappointed.
by Julie B.
Suckling pig sandwich is excellent. Not too salty!
by Mike B.
If you're headed to Pass, don't be tardy.
by Andrew H.
The pass is the most amazing indulgent dinner you can find in Houston. Even though there is a preset menu the chef is totally understanding of preferences and dietary needs. Can't wait to go back!
by Maggie R.
For Provisions, there is a small counter by the kitchen with no more than three seats.
by Jennifer M.
This place is great. Outdoor area is nice but it fills up quick so make a reservation or get there before the crowd! Go for something different and try a specialty pizza, the duck was fantastic!
by Fashion L.
Great food, nice staff, and badass bathroom. 10/10, would eat and then pee here again.
by Ashley V.
8-course tasting menu is INTENSE. So much food, but worth it if you have the stamina.
by Amber A.
Do NOT skip dessert. I repeat... Do NOT skip dessert. (In fact, order a couple)
by Abby L.
Ham & Eggs - “. . . top the gargantuan fried pork rind with “ham dust of the day” and serve it with a tin of layered hasselback caviar, crème fraîche and dehydrated capers and eggs."
by Michael C.
The Pass is a real-deal, blow-mind tasting menu experience. Go whole hog and get the eight courses; no point holding back now.
by Lockhart S.
Definitely a new favorite restaurant! Great food, service, and drinks. A trifecta!
by Ashley A.
Provisions serves creative twists on classic pizza and pastas; dinner at The Pass is more like attending a theatrical performance than eating a meal with each dish a scene.
by Eater
Shrimp salad with celery apple remoulade and sesame. Perfect lunch snack.
by Deb G.
The bar staff is a cast of stars. Skipping libations here is not an option unless you’re on a budget or in recovery.
by My Table Magazine
As in the kitchen, the bar at Provisions features talented people turned loose to create. It's become so popular that it recently extended its hours to 2:00 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
by Eater
We ate at The Pass. Amazing. One of neatest dining experiences I've had in a while. Excellent service and creative, tasty food.
by Davi B.
Kick a$$ casual foodie dining
by Robert L.
We went to eat late & were seated instantly. Highly recommend the build-it-yourself pizza Bianca. It's served with a bowl that has a mound of creamy burrata atop burst tomato drizzled with olive oil.
by 002houston
Great cocktails! Try the Brown Derby
by eva
Chocolate milk shake.. Hand shaken.. And not stirred!
by James S.
Ras el Hanout Crepe Cake / chocolate sorbet / toasted meringue
by James S.
Always new drink concoctions.. This vieux care is cognac, rye, sweet vermouth, Benedictine, bitters.. Strong, bitter, and sweet--- just he way I like it.
by James S.
These folks... The'll take good care of you. Try it all. Because it's all GOOD.
by Aimee W.
Sit at the Chef's Counter!
by Isaac J.
Swanky place. Burnt pizza.
by Flea
Delicious pumpkin soft serve dessert
by Joydeep D
This place was awful. I ordered the smoked salmon. It's that mush in my photo in the jar, tasted really fishy, I've had better salmon at HEB. My coworker got shrimp pasta and didn't eat hers either.
by Laura P.
Try the ham of the day, coffee casserrecci pasta dish, all desserts at Provisions. Great bar too. The Pass is like no other dining experience--top notch.
by Deb G.
The Coffee Cassarecci is the best pasta on the menu.
by César G.
Everything is absolutely amazing. EVERYTHING. Cheese plate, pizzas, wines, pasta, meats, dessert.... (we had everything?)
by Joëlle E.
Nice eclectic industrial contemporary decor. Great specialty cocktails and gourmet ingredient pizzas!
