Blogger Reviews of Arcade Restaurant

  • Tiffany Tastes on Aug 09, 2013

The Arcade is a true piece of Memphis history. It opened in 1919, and was a favorite hangout for Elvis. (You, too, can dine in the Elvis booth - it's the last booth on the left when you enter the restaurant.)...

  • ChefMozRustic and a little out of the way, but if you want a break from the chain restaurants and the best breakfast of your life, try the #5.It's a 6hr. drive for me,and I'm looking for a reason to go back.

  • ChefMozThe buttery pancakes melt in your mouth. Lots of history in this place and several movies filmed here, too, which makes it cool.

  • ChefMozThe Arcade is a delightful downtown gem! The same family that opened it still owns and manages it today. It is the oldest restaurant in Memphis and managed to hold on to it's original feel. Sometimes the service can be a touch slow, but the food and atmosphere are well worth it! It is definitely my favorite place for breakfast downtown.

  • ChefMozYou simply must try Memphis' oldest restaurant--it's like going back in time. Their breakfasts are great--down home cooking. The hand tossed pizza is a more recent addition, and I must say, it is incredibly delicious. In fact, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. The old brick building is a little worn around the edges (it's O-L-D!), but the food and folks inside will make you feel right at home. It's also right on the trolley line, so you can hop aboard and head on over from most anywhere downtown. Plenty of parking nearby as well. I can't wait to go back.

    44444 by ChefMoz.org

  • ChefMozThat has to say something doesn't it?

    44444 by ChefMoz.org

  • ChefMozThe Arcade Restaurant is a landmark treasure lying in downtown Memphis, across from Central Station. The food is wonderful with great breakfast and hand-tossed pizza. The ambiance is familiar as the restaurant has a "diner" feel to it. If in downtown, make sure you stop by the Arcade for either breakfast, lunch, dinner, or all three.

  • Jo Lynn Fenasci JNot worth it! 45 minutes to get seated at 11am on Sunday and then the eggs and hash browns were served cold.

  • Kathy DChicken n dumplings

    55555 by Kathy D

  • David Hotter inside the restaurant than out. Sign said seat yourself but the waitress said no. The air conditioned room was reserved. Very limited holiday menu, and the temperature of a cattle car. Nope.

    22222 by David

  • Brett WilliamsThe queuing system for tables is horrible. Tables sit empty while they wait for people to respond to their texts, and if they don't respond it could sit there for a very long time. Bummer start.

    22222 by Brett Williams

  • Paul N.Breakfast anytime!

    55555 by Paul N.

  • Ellie AElvis is playing, you can smell the delicious Southern style food back from the kitchen, and all around you is the beautiful fifties' charm. I came with my family, and our waitress was very friendly.

  • Paula F.We had to wait more than 30 minutes for our meal. Food was ok, nothing special. It worth the visit just because it is a historic place.

    33333 by Paula F.

  • Scott RA lot of hype, very little follow up. The food is OK, but definitely not worth the prices.

  • Rachel KLOVE the French toast! It's my absolute favorite thing to get here! The sausage and biscuits with gravy offers you a massive serving for people with a hearty appetite.

    55555 by Rachel K

  • John S.Tall or big sized gentlemen, do not sit at the bar. The clearance between the step and the bar is not enough for your legs. The step prevents your feet from being underneath you. Very uncomfortable.

    33333 by John S.

  • John S.How can a famous breakfast spot serve the worst coffee ever? Royal Cup coffee ... heartburn in a cup.

  • Heather L.The expression, "Cheap, fast, good: pick two," really applies here. Took a while for the food on a very slow morning, but worth the wait. Also: no butter. At all. They have margarine. No butter.
