Wilde Roast Cafe Reviews
Wilde Roast gets its name from Oscar Wilde, the 19th century playwright. The owners have tried to create an ambiance that would be to Wilde's taste, and ended up with a supremely comfortable and pleasing atmosphere. There are leather chairs, couches, as well as tables, along with a piano and local art. The light fixtures and decor are all very nice and at night it can be quite romantic. They have a fabulous menu and locals love to stop in at Wilde Roast for lunch. The coffee is also superb, as well as desserts and a nice wine selection.
This is a good place to dine or hang out and read/study. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable, and they stock local papers as well as the New York Times for patrons.
Free wireless is a draw for the college crowd while many types of entertainment often snag others to stop by. Their website is always up-to-date and provides the latest schedules of entertainment.

Service is poor, and the food is overpriced. However, the food is delicious!

More restaurant/cafe than coffee shop these days. Try the gelato but don't expect to linger over coffee in the evening.

This place did not have good lunch. Very sub par. We should have gotten brunch- it looked pretty good after we already ordered ours. And the so-called "amazing tots" not amazing at all.
Late night happy hour is the way to go. got two beers, and two pizzas and were very impressed, but then got the creme broulee and both of us got chills, and sweats on the walk home. very concerning.

Families of all stripes have always been welcome at Wilde Roast, but the expanded seating & access to the outside makes this an ideal location. Follow it up with a family hike around Nicollet Island.

The Bete Noir flourless cake looks better than it tastes. Give it a miss, and try another desert from the menu.

Food is food. Staff not so much. I've been going there daily since Dec 1. the same staff members who are always working never remember me. none of them smile either. Guess they are better than me :-)

If you're in a group larger than four for lunch, don't stay. The service is spotty at best and they seem to lose lunch orders.

Fancy burger that costs 14$ is terrible. Pre made patty. Asked for medium and got well done dog meat. They did replace it for me though
Friendly staff, wonderful Bday celebration :)

Order the huevos rancheros, with nicely spiced house sausage, crisp fried tortillas and perfectly poached eggs. Also, don't miss the housemade gelato.

Must try the Gouda hash browns at brunch. Not sure why it took so long to add cheese to hash browns. Delish combo!

Only a nice place if you are eating. Skip if you want just coffee. They lost their cafe feel big time.

It's more than a café. The menu is full of complex yet comfortable combinations. Chicken sandwich with apple slices? Yum. I tried the chocolate/mint tea and was surprised by how much I liked it.
