  • slack13 reviewI visited Irene's last summer, and the wait was long but the staff was freindly and the food was great.

  • zakgrasso reviewHaving read good reviews of Irene's, my husband and I went there, expecting the atmosphere to be romantic, the service good, and the food outstanding. We knew there would be a wait because they don't take reservations. But on arrival at 8 PM, we were taken to a back room next to the restrooms where we sat for 1 hour until we were `bumped up` to the piano bar. Another hour in the piano bar with a pianist that played 2 songs ( badly) and then took a 30 minute break. Fortunately, one of the customers could play and sing, so we got to listen to music after all. Finally, we made it to the dining room. The appetizer was delicious, but the service was abominable! After 2 hours of waiting with no one taking orders for cocktails, we figured all the waiters were in the dining room. If they were, they weren't serving! Everyone in the dining room was complaining. We finally got our dinner at 10:30. The food was good, but not worth the wait. The only efficient service we saw all night was how fast they brought the check! We finally got out at 11PM.What a disappointment!

  • lcbryant reviewIt is very unfortunate that a restaurant that gets such high marks in reviews has such horrible service. The host and servers have far too much attitude. They certainly didn't display a desire for tourists to return to the city. Skip this place if you want to be treated nicely.

  • eqqhrvd reviewMy wife and I dined at Irene's prior to the storm. The escargot was fabulous! We are looking forward to going back!

  • jdb1111 reviewA comfortable, relaxed atmosphere, great wine selection and Escargot to die for! Try the veal sorrentina for a taste sensation not to be missed.

  • jwutrie reviewI have dined at Irene's a dozen or more times and always had a terrific memobable experience. I often order off the menu and ask the chef to make an Alfredo Primavera. Delcious! I hate to see people post reviews of this wonderful place after a bad experience. They must not be going to the same Irene's!!

  • zakgrasso reviewWe went with on our last visit and the food and service were excellent. I had the pork chop special; it was out of this world. My wife had the Rosemary Chicken; it melted in your mouth. Louie was our waiter - best service we ever had.

  • Garnett reviewGreat food, great atmosphere...a real New Orleans treat! Giles the piano player, a French Quarter fixture, is a truly delightful character! John the Welsh waiter is also an unfogettable soul! We look forward to our next visit to I.C.'s!Tom and Sue Ferris

  • lcbryant reviewMy wife and I discovered the restaurant while taking a carriage ridge through the french quarter when we encountered the aroma of roasting garlic. We went there the following night and had one of the best meals we had in New Orleans and the prices are very competitive given what you are served. It is a must-dine destination when in New Orleans.

  • geofiz78 reviewMy wife and I were staying at a hotel nearby and decided to try Irene's without knowing anything about it. We loved it! The food was wonderful, the service was great, and the ambiance was cozy and charming. We're thrilled to have discovered Irene's!

  • clevin reviewHave entertained groups on several occasions here, and we have never left disappointed, in fact I often get inquiries from our visitors from New York and New Jersey, so Irene's can be added to the ubuquitous `little black book` for those of us in my company that travel frequently. The service has, on every occasion, been outstanding, and the food is unequalled in a town full of world-famous chefs. I would recommend to anyone visiting New Orleans looking for the quintessential `foodie` experience, a must do is Irene's.
