Every time we travel South, we drive out of our way to visit Mulate's. The food is wonderfully Cajun. I love the Mushroom Smothered Hamburger Steak and my husband always has the spicy Duck. The live bands are awesome and there is a small dance floor that is always full.

Get the Zydeco Gumbo, very good. Also the Zydeco bread was interesting if you want to venture out for something different. Love the atmosphere.

DO NOT get the BBQ Ribs..it tastes like meat loaf; however, the bread pudding is good.

Awesome food and had a blast dancing!
by Cathy G.
Keep eating so you don't get asked to dance, unless you can keep up with the energetic little old man!
by Suzanne M.
Oh, MY GOD, Get the Aligator Alfredo.
by Brett V.
Not a lot of spice or kick so if that's what you looking for ask for it. Good service though and love the onion rings
by Joshua K.

Dinner and dancing. A fun change of pace from the craziness of Bourbon Street. Food good; mixed drinks not too strong, however, even with extra shot...Go with beer or wine :(
by Julie M.
Their bread pudding is to die for...save room for it!
by Jamie B.
Good food, but a little pricey especially for a kid's meal.
by Crystal L.
The Mulate catfish is amazing. Topped with crawfish étouffée. Simply delicious.

Go here with your mom if you just moved to town like 6 hours ago.
by Matt R.
Not worth it at all. $22 for a barely mediocre shrimp po-boy and $7 for a cup of bland gumbo. Waste of money and time in a fantastic culinary city.
by Brian S.
The étouffée and gumbo are delicious. A must have no doubt.
by Olivia S.
Go for the music, it was the best thing here...food was mediocre, service was average. Key lime pie tasted a bit old, charge $.99 for bread.
by Nancy R.
Food is way overpriced, and not very good. Our meal was cold when it came out. Very disappointing. I'll stick to my own gumbo from now on.
by Ed C.
Bad food, over priced- highly fucking disappointed.... 2 times in a row things have turned out to be a high priced turd- Jesus!!!!!
by Brad
Fucking Christ... Really? A cup if soup for 8 bucks? Is this entire city affected??
by Brad
Not the best
by George S.
Frog legs, rice-sausage, meat pies, and bread pudding. Eat them.

Cajun sampler appetizer! $50.00 split between myself and 2 other people as our meal and it was worth every penny!!
by Ali
Very expensive. So very filling. Yummy but I feel bad for my parents. Expensive and I couldn't finish half of my meal! Music is too loud I might mention. BUT yummy like I said. Idk if its worth it.
by Braeden W.
The atmosphere was great and so was the fried alligator but staff and the rest of the food was severely lacking.
by Amber G.
The Gumbo is excellent.
