We were anticipating an outstanding dining experience on our first trip to New Orleans. The food at Emeril's lived up to our expectations, the service and staff attitude did not. I even asked if we had done something to offend. I understand that this is not the normal experience, but you don't get a second chance to make a first impression. I'll just watch him on the tube.,

We anticipated excellent cuisine and that was delivered. Unfortunately it was delivered by condescending, surly staff. The overall experience was poor due to the abysmal attitude of the servers and maitre d'. You don't get a second chance to make a first impression.

We were so looking forward to our lunch before we had to leave. The food was excellent - too bad the waiter made it a negative experience.
by highhouse
My wife and I had lunch @ Emeril's recently, and while it is a little bit expensive, the food was very, very, good!
by EdsPlace
Not good enough
by mccram
This was one of the best meals I've ever had. And my husband, who is not easy to please and expected to hate it, also loved it. The service was great, the food was wonderful and the prices not unreasonable - not any more expensive than any nice restaurant. I've paid more and gotten less at other restaurants.
by mediakit
The worst lunch I've ever had is the best description I can give. The crab & corn chowder was too salty and potatoes not thoroughly cooked. No better luck with the shrimp pasta. The `sauce` tasted like salt water. The waiters hovered uncomfortably close. The prices are outrageous (for food this bad). Never again.
by 1chick
Too LOUD. One big warehouse. No atmosphere, average food. Certainly not what I was expecting.
I know that Emeril is a VERY famous chef, but I have to admit that I had a dish there that was inedible due to it's saltiness. My friend had a fine meal, but that did not make me feel much better. I am very familiar with New Orleans Creole cooking, and I realize that anyone can have a bad day, but I will choose Galatoire's anytime!
by JimBaymiller
Good service, good gumbo. The entrees were mediocre, especially for the price. Cheese board had good cheeses but the bread was dry and almost stale.
by Keith Kerr
The food was good. Service however was spotty. Seated at counter. I saw four other people get some small appetizers (asides from their regular ones) not on the menu but I was not given these.
by Paolo A
Totally great food and a great experience.
by D. C
Best chicken and waffles I've ever had.
by Allison K.
Perfect place for a date night. Pork chops are very big and please get the andouille and boudin appetizer with collard greens.

Allen Nguyen, chef of Bayou Hot Wings, eats here on his nights off. He loves the Sticky Buffalo Chappapeela Farms duck wings.
by Chefs Feed
Bam, the $22.5 3 course lunch is very good and reasonable portions.
by Jeremy Y.
An American and New Orleans classic. The gumbo is excellent and the chef doesn't tone down the spice at all. Enjoyed the ribeye on this visit.
by Chris P.
The barbecue shrimp is to die for. The pork chop is amazing and freakishly huge
by Lucretia P.
Where do I start?! Excellent food, stuff, ambience, everything !
by Ja_Moi_I
If you leave this place without eating a slice of Banana Cream Pie, you have failed at life.
by Mary Ann P.
Difficult to find words to describe the taste. Every choice takes you to another wonder of taste.

by Port L.
Great fried chicken. Great ambiance and great drinks!
by James Guarascio
I wish I tried the banana cream pie and the pork chop. I tried the chicken and waffles. Overall the meal was mediocre. Not horrible at all. Particularly the organic chicken was tasty.
by Kobe R
It's a hit or miss for vegetarians.
by Praveen Pandey
Everything I ate here was wonderful. Try a medium rare burger and the extremely good barbecue shrimp, maybe the best in New Orleans.
by Mypat Bobo

by Jeff C.
The Fettuccini Nero was awesome, they even took us into the kitchen, so we could get a picture!
by Jenny K.
The tuna salad is more like lettuce wraps, but it's the best thing on the menu. Emeril's is the finest restaurant in New Orleans, don't miss it.
by Christine N.
The wine list is unbelievable!

The best of all my trip. Chocolate soufflé was out if this world. The service was impeccable. Will come back again!

Try the Peach Bruschetta & the Andouille Crusted Rainbow Trout. My husband had the Buffalo Chappapeela Duck Wings, the arugula salad & the fish of the day (swordfish). Everything was delicious!
by Ivette T.
Banana Cream Pie . . . Oh My! !
by Tania W.
I was trying to be fair but actually fuck this place. We spent $650 and I would have been happier with a bag of McDoubles. How do you fuck up sorbet?
by Trenton G.
Wouldn't recommend the Salmon, nor the Tuna salad. The duck wings were poorly cooked but full of flavor from the duck sauce ("buffalo" they say).
by Trenton G.
Emeril's steak is quite possibly the best I've ever had. WIthout a doubt it was in the top five of my life. Fantastic service to boot. Let me swap for the sides that came with the chicken.

There are a few tables by the bar where you don't need a reservation. Service was fantastic, and the andouille crusted drum fish was light and delicious.

Emeril Lagasse serves up Creole cuisine, like Homemade Andouille and Boudin, in the city that inspired it all at Emeril's New Orleans.
by Food Network
Excellent service with reasonable price. Foods are great too. Sweet and sour lamb spare ribs is a must for appetizer :-)
by Ronald V.
Cannot go wrong with the gumbo
by Stan H.
Good food and great wine selection. If you want chocolate soufflé you must order it WITH your meal. We didn't even know it was on the menu and had to wait 45 minutes after we had dinner.
by Amanda C.
