  • NM_Bill reviewLeah Chase is a grande dame and a N.O. institution. She is determined to get back in operation, target July. Indeed the restaurant is a N.O. institution. The neighborhood is horrid - big, old public housing. Escorts to and from the nearby parking lot. I quietly chuckle now. Our first visit, Leah was working the room, and played up relationship with those of color - a seeming snub to us Anglos. OK, after all the history, I should be able to take it with a grain of salt. Isn't turnabout supposed to be fair play. None-the-less her tradition is a class act and, although 80ish her pride should carry on. Good luck. By the way, there was nothing shabby about the food.

  • gill_bey reviewWe visited this lovely restaurant in June of 05, before Katrina. It was THE BEST food we had during our entire 4 day stay, real food, homecooked and delicious. The service was excellent and the atmosphere excellent. When it opens again(soon e pray) we plan to make another trip.
