  • encognito8 reviewLet me start by saying that I and my corporate partners have always enjoyed our experience at Huck Finn's and frequently refer visitors and corporate sponsors to this restaurant. However, one negative experience has led to me no longer patronize this establishment. On Sunday, July 6, 2014, I along with two other guests went to Huck Finn's for breakfast. Our server was fantastic and the food was consistent with previous visits. However the shift manager, Jason Trentham, was less than a delight (that's putting it mildly). I received a discounted coupon for my next visit and presented this to my server at the time of ordering. The coupon stated 'Buy one entrée, get 50% off the second' so I informed the server to put my entrée and my guest's entrée on one check (that I would be paying). Shortly after, Jason approached my table to inform me that I had to use the coupon on the lowest entrée at the TABLE. In this case, the lowest entree at the table was not either of the entrees that I was purchasing but instead the entrée of a third party dining with me. I informed him that I am the person using the coupon and will be purchasing the two entrees that I indicated to the server (as stated in the coupon details) and it made absolutely no sense that my coupon would be applied to someone elses check just because we were all dining together. He stated that this did not matter since we all walked in together and were seated together. As I continued to try to explain to Jason that I have never heard of such a policy and even showed him the coupon along with the details (which contradicted everything he was saying), he begin to argue and state that this is the policy everywhere and there was nothing I could do about it. He was adamant about his decision so to prevent further conflict, I asked the waiter to go ahead and apply the discount to the third party's check. Shortly after, two of the restaurant's employees expressed to me that Jasons decision was not right and they were not in agreement with his actions. Before leaving, I proceeded to tell Jason that I would be following up on this matter and he so eloquently stated that all of management will back him up and communicating my discontent on social media would not have an impact. Well as of Thursday, July 10, my local corporate partners have responded to my request to no longer patronize this establishment or refer out of town visitors here. I will continue to express my discontent with every local/non local outlet. If Jason truly represents the views and attitude of Huck Finns management team, then others should be made aware of this and spend their dollars elsewhere. New Orleans (French Quarters) have phenomenal restaurants and this one will certainly not be missed!
