A pasta dish with slow roasted tomatoes and the mushroom tarte tatin were particularly outstanding.The service was also first class, friendly without being gushing, and extremely professional. Not cheap, but worth every penny and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

However I was disappointed by the hosting staff - they made you wait when the restaurant was not full and when I lost my eyeglasses and fully described them, they found the same described eyeglasses in the drawer after they said there was nothing, then after I put them on and said they were mine, they had to check to make sure they were not eyeglasses that had been there for days - certainly preposterous - who in the world after just dining on a rainy day when icy rain was expected would come in to claim eyeglasses that were not theirs?

The presentation of each dish, including the fantastic desserts, was particularly notable. This was an experience I'll long remember.

  • DeanDC reviewI made my reservation in the afternoon for that night, this past Martin Luther King Day. No problem. So picking your spots may be the thing to do. And I was glad I did it. It was one of the better dining experiences I've had in my life, and while I may not be Mr. Zagat I eat out a bit. Service was mystical; I don't know how they do it, but they do. If it had been any better it would have been annoying -- but it never even approached annoying. Someone always seemed to be there when needed (and was most welcome when offering the little delicacies that come your way between courses!). And when I wanted a few minutes to enjoy a glass of wine, someone was there when I was about ready to move on. Part of the secret is that they `tag-team` you -- but it's welcome, and they did it superbly. And the food? Every bite was a pleasure. And while you're not going to get `man-size` portions here, of course, I certainly didn't leave hungry. And I thought the price (my bill was about $132 with tax) was perfectly reasonable for what I had -- the prix fixe and four glasses of excellent wine -- and for the atmosphere that allowed me to enjoy it to the full. I was still enjoying the meal the next morning, in fact, when I brought the complimentary muffin into work to have with my first cup of coffee. When I clear deck space on the credit cards, I'll be back!
