  • asf reviewGet a table in the front room and experience the best of both worlds. New yorkers sipping wine with the locals and food that's out of this world. Dont forget the cheese plate - I know I never will.

  • nycfoodie1 reviewOverpriced, overhyped.Micro portions, we actually giggled at the offerings.$500 for 4 people and we left HUNGRY !!!.

  • whitsta reviewAfter a couple of mediocre meals, Gramercy Tavern more than redressed the balance. We opted for the vegetarian tasting menu, which was sublime. A pasta dish with slow roasted tomatoes and the mushroom tarte tatin were particularly outstanding. The service was also first class, friendly without being gushing, and extremely professional. Not cheap, but worth every penny and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

  • zaraspookguru reviewWhat is all the hype about? The food was honestly not noteworthy in my book. People rave about it yet my fiance, my parents and I were really disappointed. The dessert was the best thing that came to our table that night.

  • dianemichaels revieweverything was near perfect - I had probably the best meal of the fifteen- three star restaurants I had visited over the past three months-food was sensational, except for the vegetable combination (brussel sprouts with Mahi Mahi) - dessert was truly grand - three in oneService by Sam was the best I have experienced. However I was disappointed by the hosting staff - they made you wait when the restaurant was not full and when I lost my eyeglasses and fully described them, they found the same described eyeglasses in the drawer after they said there was nothing, then after I put them on and said they were mine, they had to check to make sure they were not eyeglasses that had been there for days - certainly preposterous - who in the world after just dining on a rainy day when icy rain was expected would come in to claim eyeglasses that were not theirs?

  • jmezzullo reviewGreat Luncheon ExperienceMy lunch with three co-workers during a recent visit to the city was a highlight of our trip. We were seated in the main dining area, and the ambience and service were both wonderful. Each of us ordered something different so we could 'sample' each of the other dishes. The presentation of each dish, including the fantastic desserts, was particularly notable. This was an experience I'll long remember.

  • esbutler reviewThis is one of the best restaurants I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. The service was impeccable - friendly, professional to a fault, and gracious. Every detail of the meal was perfection. Not to be missed when in New York!!

  • booverstreet reviewWhat an ultimate experience! A treat from the moment we arrived. I highly reccomend the `tasting menu` We really enjoyed the many different courses as well as the many great wine selections. Service is impeccable, and by far the best we have ever had. Thanks to all for the highly enjoyable dining experience. We will come back next time we are in New York...reservations allowing!

  • DeanDC reviewI made my reservation in the afternoon for that night, this past Martin Luther King Day. No problem. So picking your spots may be the thing to do. And I was glad I did it. It was one of the better dining experiences I've had in my life, and while I may not be Mr. Zagat I eat out a bit. Service was mystical; I don't know how they do it, but they do. If it had been any better it would have been annoying -- but it never even approached annoying. Someone always seemed to be there when needed (and was most welcome when offering the little delicacies that come your way between courses!). And when I wanted a few minutes to enjoy a glass of wine, someone was there when I was about ready to move on. Part of the secret is that they `tag-team` you -- but it's welcome, and they did it superbly. And the food? Every bite was a pleasure. And while you're not going to get `man-size` portions here, of course, I certainly didn't leave hungry. And I thought the price (my bill was about $132 with tax) was perfectly reasonable for what I had -- the prix fixe and four glasses of excellent wine -- and for the atmosphere that allowed me to enjoy it to the full. I was still enjoying the meal the next morning, in fact, when I brought the complimentary muffin into work to have with my first cup of coffee. When I clear deck space on the credit cards, I'll be back!

  • aliuren1974 reviewHaving flown all the way from Australia I wanted to treat myself to one of New York's finest restaurants and I was not dissapointed. As a single woman I was made to feel welcome from the moment I arrived and I must say the whole experience was worth every cent.Which actually adds up to quite a few cents when travelling on Aussie dollars! For anyone wanting a dining experience they will not forget the Gramercy Tavern is sure to provide this and much, much more.
