Finally got in the door. My first trip ended at the door, a wait to get into a restaurant and bar at capacity. As Zagat says it “takes an act of Congress to get a reservation...
Minetta Tavern Reviews
Black. Label. Burger.
by Jeffrey F.
Paying $26 for a burger is easy to scoff at, unless it’s the legendary Black Label Burger at this restored Village relic which once served luminaries like Hemingway and Cummings. (RC & CP)
by Time Out New York
The $26 burgers aren't the only reason to come here. An Italian restaurant that once occupied this site, serving Beat poets and pub crawlers, left many of its decor pieces behind.

Have the burger with a Pimm's cup, obviously. And some chocolate soufflé to share for dessert.

The gold standard of funky, pungent, caramelized onion-topped, dry-aged, more-a-steak-than-a-burger burgers, it's somehow worth every one of those 26 dollars.
Black label burger and chocolate souffle, service, lighting, decor: all great. Table layout: unfortunately, horrible. Waaay too many people seated too close to each other, and deafeningly loud.

Yes, the black label deserves all the hype BUT the minetta burger is amazing too! They both just melt in your mouth!

Get the Black Label Burger with carmelized onions and fries. Wash it down with a Left Hand Polestar Pils. Finish it all off with the dark chocolate souffle.

Minetta burger is awesome, especially with a Pilsner on a warm summer day!

Seriously, everyone talks about the burger.... But try the filet mignon. The aligot is also a MUST.

Best burger in NYC!

The black label burger, while obnoxiously pricey, may be the best burger I have ever had...

Lives up to all the hype.

Worth the extra $9 for the rib eye burger
by Paull Y.
The Black Label burger is the greatest burger that I've ever eaten. It's made of prime dry-aged cuts of beef. Even the fries are outstanding. You won't regret it.

"The streets outside Minetta Tavern are crawling with NYU students, but they never go in this former speakeasy in the heart of Greenwich Village. Probably because it's too old, too comfortable, too.."
by Alex M.
Of course, you must get the black label burger. But beware, it's rather salty. And if you usually like a medium-rare, you'll want to opt for medium here.

Steak for 2 is aggressive but SOOOO worth it, highly recommend trying.

Crowded, pricey...but I loved it!

Black Label Burger (topped with with caramelized onions)
Though it’s not quite the same as it was when F. Scott Fitzgerald hung out here (along with contemporaries like Ernest Hemingway), you can soak in the old-timey ambience—assuming you can get a table.

The black label burger is truly amazing, a must have if you're dining here...Father's Office what?!?!

They should make their items order-able from a smart phone by adding them to the app "appay biz" for free! That way, I can order ahead using "appay"!!!!!!!!!!!
by George W.
Bone-in steak was outstanding. Their "medium" more like medium rare.

Black Label Burger = easily the best burger in NYC and quite possibly the best burger I've ever had anywhere

Amazing green tomato bloodys!

Best burguer!! And don't forget to ask for the chocolate soufflé... OMG

Great spot for incredible food and bustling ambience. Top picks include the Black Label Burger and the Cote de Boeuf for two. -John W.

The beef patty on the Black Label burger is the real star here with simple flavors that are perfectly cooked to be medium rare. (preferably)

really heavy on the salt
Ask for a table at the side. The ones in the middle of the room are in the airflow.

Ask for the famous Black Label burger, top meat, caramelized onions and very good fries. In French places is also difficult not to ask for a roasted bone marrow.
