  • ChefMozOn a freezing night we were happy to find a restaurant that looked promising (there was some hype about it when it opened) where we could be seated immediately. Seeing the woodburning oven, we immediatley decided that pizza would be the entree choice since there isn't a woodburning oven in every restaurant and one might as well make the best of it.My appetizer salad of Avocado and arugula was dull because there was little flavor other than vinegar and salt, but the portion was large. The sardine appetizer was delicious, maybe because it reminded me of how I prepare sardines at home. It was simply baked, with olive oil, lemon, some herbs and was served piping hot. The fish flesh fell off easily and was juicy. The margherita pizza was a disappointment. It was hot and fresh but something was missing. The tomato sauce was bland and lacked any of the sweetness of tomato. Second, the bread, though well-cooked and thin crust, also didn't have much wholesome bread flavor. The mozzarella was okay and I was in doubt whether it was fresh, meaning made that day. Or maybe the cheese was fresh it was just that the combination of two of the three ingredients were bland, that the cheese also tasted bland. The service was also disappointing. the restaurant was not busy but the waitress didn't want to give us time. She translated the mostly Italian language menu so quickly we didn't understand what she was saying. She barely paused between dishes and she didn't take more than one question. Once she was done speed reciting the menu she speedily departed. The service was poor for the same reason throughout the evening.

  • I love it here, cozy yet open atmosphere. Love sitting at the bar with a glass of wine, picking at the complimentary olives and breadsticks!

  • Passersby are unlikely to stumble upon this charming below-street-level venue, making it a best-kept secret. Apart from its wonderfully extensive wine list, the menu draws from the restaurant upstairs
