Blogger Reviews of Nobu Tribecca
NYC Talking on Oct 15, 2013
One of the items that I found extremely delicious here was the Artic Charr, my friend Clara has that and I had a taste, wow that was good! I had the black cod with Miso and that was really good too, I think it is safe to say that you cannot go wrong with any of Nobu‘s signature cooked dishes. In fact we were encouraged to try these because they are specific to Nobu’s restaurant. I’m glad we did.

Messrs. DeNiro and Nieporent:I am an artist from NY and Baltimore. I have just finished a series of drawings using soy sauce. They are quite extradinary. The StevenVail Gallery in DesMoines have the CD, but I think they would look marvelous as a show in Nobu. Before I consider sending the originals to Iowa I would like the opportunity to set up an appointment with you to either consider a sale of the series or a show in the restaurant.Since a friend of mine is bringing a couple of items to Southeby on a Saturday within the next three weeks please email me if a time on that Saturday would be convenient. Thanks,Al

surprisingly wonderful experience- before we went to nobu, i read a bunch of the reviews patrons had given and i had VERY mixed feelings about going to Nobu. We went on a Saturday night, and to my surprise after all the negative reviews i had read, it was a wonderful experience. my husband and i are die hard sushi fans and i enjoyed the entire experience. The waiter was awesome and picked out ALL of our dishes(i recommend the sashimi salad, yellow tail w/jalapeno,kobe beef and ABOVE all the rock shrimp tempura. We drank the lychee martini and the mango martini and it was all delicious. the service was impeccabel and i even told the waiter that in the reviews i read, the people that ate there claimed the waiters were rude and not helplful and he seemed surprised and the service was even better after i told him this. I felt the portions could have been a bit bigger but i did leave satisfied and i would definitely go to nobu again. The only thing i can say is go for yourself and dont listen to the negative reviews, if your willing to spend the money. DEFINITELY be adventurous and order what the waiter recommends b/c when you go to this place, you shouldnt waste your time on the basic rolls when they have so many wonderful dishes that are so different to the normal sushi restaurants we are all use to. we absolutely love it, dont listen to the negative reviews. TRUST ME!

I took a day off from work and travelled to Nobu from Yonkers on 7/14, just to see if it was all it was supposed to be ... well, it certainly was! The best sushi and rock shrimp I have ever had! I plan to return very soon and I hope Liam is the person who takes care of me. Nobu has everything it promised; the food is great, the service is impeccable (thank you, Liam!) and the entire experience is memorable. Thank you, Nobu ~

Awesome dining experience. I give this restaurant the highest ratings possible. We put our meal in the hands of the chef and our server as suggested! Brilliant idea. We told them our likes and dislikes and they produced a meal that was exquisite. Server Megan - request her!

It's been over a year and I can STILL taste the miso cod!
by almar1
It's not easy to summarize the Nobu experience. You need to make a reservation four weeks in advance, it is very expensive, the wine menu (if you can call it that) sucks. Still, some of the dishes such as cod in miso, rock shrimp in spicy sauce and tuna tartar with caviar are well worth it. If you go for the surprise menu, there are two things to remember - 1. paying more will not always bring you more food, just food of better quality.2. you can still ask for specific dishes (cod in miso, hint hint) to be included

Lunch bento box, yellowtail & jalapeno, crispy rice with tuna, spicy creamy crab, miso cod wraps
by Connie L.
Get the salmon new style, jalapeno yellowtail, fluke tiradito style. Also get the black cod in butter lettuce wraps. Cheaper and better than the regular black cod
by John C.
Great food. Iffy service. Had to wait 30 mins for a reserved table for 2. Since the heat was on blast I waited outside on the steps, only to be lectured by the manager. Now that's just wack...
by Julia D
Same great menu as the original, miso fluke appetizer is unreal.

Normal Japanese food. Nothing sparks.

The miso black cod and rock shrimp both live up to the hype

Restaurant week ($38): Rock shrimp tempura, assorted sushi, and tiramisu. All great, but you may want to dip under the fish on your sushi and remove some of the wasabi. It can be awfully harsh.

Come for brunch!! They do salmon on cream cheese crispy rice and matcha waffles. Divine and just a fun twist on staples

Ambiente sofisticado, atendimento especial e opções diferenciadas. Para primeira visita, sugiro o Bento Box, com opções frias e quentes do menu selecionadas pelo chef. Apresentação incrÃvel.

If you want to transport back to the early 2000s and cozy up to the table next to you, try the yellowtail with jalapeño, crispy rice with spicy tuna, black miso cod, and creamy spicy crab. It works.

Bluefin tuna is considered endangered. It is my environmental obligation to encourage you not to order it. But it is my deliciousness obligation to encourage you not to miss the toro tartar...
by Faye H.
Delicious sushi in an upscale, trendy atmosphere. While the sushi is exceptional, the rock shrimp tempura must be ordered as well.

Get the Black Cod in Miso!

This may be obvious, but the best tasting menu ever. Definitely avoid if sushi and seafood isn't your thing, but if you're celebrating something special, this can't be beat.

Order the Omakase (Chef's menu) but have a simile for "amazing" ready, to avoid sounding like a broken record. The $150 option includes brilliant Kobe beef.

The flagship of 24 locations globally, this sushi house appears careworn (vs the 57th St outpost) but it still attracts the same well-heeled crowds with its inventive menu and infectious energy.

We have a special affection for this flagship location. Like many of the city’s best Japanese hotspots, the menu offers omakase (chef’s choice), which makes for a fantastic way to sample Nobu's best.

Black cod! One of the best sushi restaurants in NY. Great food-the Chilean Sea Bass is great. Very crowded.
by Beth B.
Decilious yellowtail sashimi and black cod. No words for the tempura or the sushi rolls! And, of course, the service was great too.
by Mary
Sorry but no way, I consider myself a sushi pro and this place is nowhere on my top list, althought ranks #1 for the most expensive.
