  • eugenebata reviewI found Picholines food to be of excellent quality. The ambience is beautiful, however, a little stuffy. Our waiter who took our orders was condescending to say the least. I guess he thought we were a bunch of hicks. The servers, however, were very prompt and attentive. The breads were ecxellent and so was the salmon. A unique dining experience, but I won't go back. By the way, I know what calvados is. the

  • jmd321 reviewI have eaten at Picholine several times, and personally consider it the best in New York City. They constantly deliver world-class food with world-class service. I think they would receive higher ratings if they weren't stereotyped by being on the Upper West Side.

  • sdalde reviewMy wife and I and various friends have eated here seven or eight times in the past couple of years and the only dish that wasn't superb was, a friend claims, a risotto that was too salty. (He could have aske the chef to under-salt it!) Service and decor are A delight.

  • mrwilli reviewWe dined at this restaurant and opted to go for the prefix menu. $65 per person. We were surprised to find out that certain items have a surcharge after receiving the check. Should pre-fix menus include surcharge items ?

  • hortmart reviewMy luncheon here was one of my greatest dining experiences. Our food was beautifully presented, delicious and of the very highest quality. Our multi-lingual server was efficient, friendly-butnot intrusive-and spoke with expert knowledge regarding the menu, wines, and the cheese selection. The headwaiter made us feel welcome and comfortable, and thatit was the restaurant's pleasure to serve us.This was truly a peak experience in dining.

  • logan69_usa reviewFrom the artichoke soup to the desert, the meal was a memorable one. I had sea bass prepared as no other I have ever had. My wife had medalions of salmon which was excellent. Make sure that you order desert. We ordered the two chocolet dishes on the menue. Mine was chocolet with a chestnut garnish which was excellent. My wife ordered a chocolet tort? with three sorbets--this could possibly have been the best chocolet desert I have ever eaten. Homemade candy is also served at the end of the meal to top this wonderful experience. Superb experience and can't wait to return.

  • blueblue reviewComparatively speaking, Picholine's is a superb example of Northern Italian cuisine. I have dined here with a group of friends who all have different tastes in food, yet each one found a wonderful dish from the menu. The food is fabulous, the waiters are very attentive, and the atmosphere is definitely meditteranean.Great choice!

  • cybrchef reviewEasily one of the top three dining experiences I've ever had. It may be expensive but the money paid is still a fabulous value.

  • New York HabitatAn exquisite French-Mediterranean spot perfect for splurging. The food is remarkable but the only way to get the full experience is through the tasting menu and the popular cheese cart.

  • Lisa M.The only French restaurant I know that has a vegetarian menu. Try the mushroom risotto and ask for it vegan. Delicious! Also, the chef sends you "gifts" and may even visit your table when quiet.

  • Chocolate C.Desserts are a must. I work hard on making them so try at least one. Pear Torchone is my favorite to make and eat. Petit fours, chocolate and ice creams are all made in house, oh so delicious.
