Barbuto Reviews
Barbuto’s garage style doors are flung open as soon as temperatures rise, so every seat feels like it’s outside.
by Eater
When you order the Budino for dessert, ask for a side of breadsticks to enjoy the best pocky you've ever tasted.
by Lisa E.
Try the roast chicken, but feel free to share it, as it's literally a half of a chicken. And try the rigatoni
by Olivia K
If you are looking for some great authentic Italian food. This is the spot for you!
by Tim M
It's been over a year and I still have fond memories of the gnocchi!
by Hien L.
amazing service!!! the food was delicious! the portions are just perfect!
by Theresa J
Everything was delicious, the kale salad was so fresh and flavorful. Great outside option for a sunny day, with walls that fully open so even if inside, you feel outside
by Jessica J
The interior decor was underwhelming & reminded me of an old factory. The chicken didn't stand out to me as the inside was dry despite a very flavorful skin. Gnocchi & kale salad were pretty good.
by Ashley J
The appetizers were delicious, wine selection was nice. The steak and chicken plates left a lot to be desired. Definitely expected a better meal considering how highly the waiter spoke of the food.
by Bryan U.
Get Pollo al Forno
by Howard J
Not my favorite kind of place (more posh than food) but fun when it's nice out to hang out in the hood. Split a salad and the chicken. Potatoes looked good. Pasta was overwhelming.
by Jeff W.
Amazingly comfortable in the spring when the garage doors are opened. Delicious roast chicken, the off menu bucatini carbonara, and rosemary potatoes. Good 4 people watching and casual eating ❤️
by Angie J.
Off menu cacio e pepe and carbonara are always available.
by C S.
Kale salad and gnocchi was amazing. Also the off-menu carbonara, although I prefer mine a little creamier
by Gabi T

They really do have one of the best roasted chickens in NYC. Also, don't forget the potatoes—they are crack.
by Lenny G.
Jonathan Waxman is incredible and consistent. I always order the server's recommendation and never disappointed. Try the goat stew if it's in season!
by Kate W

Anlasilmasi mumkun olmayan bir menu yapmislar kimse yemekleri dogru durust anlatamiyor.. Yemeklerin lezzetine gore fiyatlar cok pahali.. Ayni fiyata bolgede cok daha guzel restoranlar var.
by Gizem S
One of NYC's best. Best roast chicken in NYC. Roasted potatoes and pastas are perfection. Kale salad is green heaven. #LOVE #magical

by Saarim N
Can't beat the location in summer and the food is on point, finely executed Italian fare. Delish!
by Charlotte Scarf
Get a table outside or its noisy as a primary School yard! Food is ok
by Kaiser M
Served with an Italian salsa verde redolent of anchovies and capers, the half chicken is every bit as good as it ever was, perhaps better.
by Eater
I never thought I could get so excited about roast chicken.
by Allison K.
Wide open windows, trendy atmosphere & great food make this west village spot great for a dinner on a summer weeknight with good company. Gnocchi was 💯 & shrimp was 👍🏻. Really can't go wrong.
by Meg Farmer
Great chefs table food was out of this world especially pasta and chicken.
by James C.
Chef Jonathan Waxman's prime pastas, pizzas, antipasti, and that famous roast chicken coupled with ample outdoor seating make this the perfect move for brunch, lunch, or dinner al fresco.

by Karl S.
If you don't get the roast chicken, you're doing it wrong. Huge portion sizes and lively atmosphere. West Village fav.
by Mike N.
The fiddlehead bruschetta is made by angels. Main portions are large, so it's better to share a few plates.
by Justin T
Food is good. Wine is great. A bit overpriced.
by Graham Lindner

by Cameron S
Food is good... Service unfortunately never is!! 😏
by Lina Alm
The hostesses were very good. They predicted our wait time (no reservations for parties of two) with incredible precision. The tagliatelle with scallops are incredible. Chicken, OF COURSE. And gelato
by Jorge U.
Chicken is definitely fantastic but this place changed my perception about gnocchi and made me think gnocchi can be extremely tasty.
by Asahi, pls.
the roasted chicken and the gnocchi are to die for, have olives and rocca salad for starters and enjoy the mixture of flavors
by May A
Awesome new age Italian food at this popular restaurant with huge garage doors. Unfortunately the wait for a table can be very long so we sat outside which was tolerable with the heat coming through
by Tyler L.
Best roast chicken I've ever had. Ever.
by Phil Buckler

by Sherie S.

by FoodandLash Lash
The chicken is flavorful and a stable here, but I also love the gnocchi, zuppa soup, and the crostata.
by Tommy Chen
Not for me. I was forced to get something that I was not in the mood for because the chef will not substitute anything on the menu. Not a good experience.
by Mitchell R.

This is everything a NY restaurant is supposed to be. Fantastic food, superb service, and a great space! Loved brunch here!
by Jeremy J.
Had the chef's table tasting recently and didn't like anything but the wine. Food was all over salted, pasta was almost raw. If this place was once good, it no longer is.
by Justin D.
They currently have a gnocchi with sausage and kale on the menu. If you see it, get it
by Fred W.
Cool place but too crowd.
by Lucia Silva y Cobo
Chicken, chicken, chicken. Rydberg guys make a really good bird. Cocktails are great as well.
by Cesar R.
Delicious food. Try the chicken dish or gnocchi or risotto
by Sinem R
Did the chefs table with my family. An absurd amount of food.- not complaining. Everything was delicious. The chicken is as good as you'll thing. And all the pastas were delicious (gnocchi and carb)
by Cali Z.
What goes well with perfect roast chicken? Pasta, of course. New to the menu is a rich potato-dumpling dish with sweet delicata squash and walnut pesto, it's called the Gnocchi e Zucca ($19).
by Staff Picks
Kale salad
by CCnyc
Awesome space. The gnocchi was amazing!
by James J.
It's super busy in the evening but the food is good. It's also quite loud. If the weather is nice sit outside and you can actually have a conversation.
by Robert Accettura
Bill Telepan, chef of Telepan, eats here on his nights off. He loves the Pollo al forno.
by Chefs Feed
It's a great place to have dinner and sit outside. In the summer, it's best to reserve seating beforehand, as it gets crowded. I tried the chicken and it was a bit dry.
by Berk K.
The pizza uvovo is amazing. But if pizza ain't ur thang, get the roasted chicken. Probably the best dish on the menu.
by J L.
The signature JW roasted chicken and any pasta dish are always aces in the hole

Kale salad is perfection but only on the menu seasonally. Also you cannot go wrong with the carbonara for lunch or the JW chix potatoes for dinner. And no matter what end your meal with the budino.
by Melissa R.

Food is absolutely delicious, but it's expensive, especially since the entrees come with no side. I ordered fish with fennel, but I'm still looking for the fennel. If you see something, say something!

If it ain't broke don't fix it, and Chef Jonathan Waxman's Pollo Al Forno has been the main seller here since it opened. The crispiness of the skin and moistness of the meat, it doesn't disappoint.

Come on! We were the only ones left in the restaurant and I left my scarf on the chair. When I came back in (2 minutes after) it was gone. They charge $20 for a chicken and they steal your cheap scarf
