I have been to over 100 bbq places and this place had the meanest people. My ribs were undercooked so I asked for a new one. Our server took it but said a profanity. She was ready to leave and we arrived but she took us. Every ten minuets she would come to us and say are you done? The ribs were not the best.
I had a chicken sandwich that was so overcooked I really thought it was some kind of bad joke. The waitress picked up on it right away and tried to fix it by bringing me another one, however, the one she showed up with had an odor that smelled rotten and had everyone at the table making faces! Needless to say, I didn't eat it! The manager comp'd it and I went without lunch. This was the second bad experience here. Do yourself a favor and choose another restaurant! The service was excellent, but the food was horrible!
We are from Orlando, and knew that during our day trip to Port Orange, we wanted some good, fresh seafood. After doing a little bit of research, I decided we should try DJ's Deck. We were greated by a server when we walked in, and she asked if we had been there before. We hadn't, so she explained the different seating options, the menus, and how to order. We ordered the chicken nuggets for our daughter (almost 3 years old) a side order of Gator Tail (unfortunately they were out of shark bites, which we really wanted to try, so will be going back for them), the Grilled Trio platter, an excellent glass of lemonade for our daughter, and two cold glasses of Bud. It was probably the best seafood I have had in years. If I absolutely had to choose, my favorite was the scallops. I think my husband would choose either the shrimp or the hushpuppies as his favorite. I even got our daughter to try a bite of fish (she didn't go for seconds, though). My husband wasn't very hungry, hence the one dinner. We did have plenty of food this time (large portions!), but I think next time we'll order two dinners so we can try different things. The service was very fast, and we were approached by 3 or 4 different servers throughout our meal asking if we needed anything else. The atmosphere was incredible. We sat outside, and enjoyed the view. Our daughter really enjoyed seeing the pelicans and the fishing boats. VERY family friendly, and the restaurant is also extremely easy to find. I'm already looking forward to our next trip!
This Applebees is right by my house, and two miles from my office. I have tried it several times, all of which were a disappointment. The food is consistantly mediocre, as you would expect from a national chain. The management and staff are completely sub-par. When issues are brought to the managements attention, they the completely 'dumb out' leaving you quite frustrated.
About 90% of the people who work there are really helpful and nice. There's a couple of servers that only worry about the tips not the service. One night I went to order baby back ribs and found a fly in it. I got new ribs but wonder how the fly was inside the rib.
What a wonderful dining experience. We ate outside under the Tiki Huts with a gorgous view of the Halifax River. The staff at D.J.'s Deck is so nice and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was wonderful and fresh. I had the grilled trio (Grouper, shrimp and scallops) and my husband had the fried platter. The food was excellent and the portions were large. I would highly recommend D.J's Deck to anyone.
We stopped in to what looked like a nice little " joint" on the river. Evidently we were 10 minuets too early so that entitled us to a rude attitude from the bartender. The only reason we stayed at all is because we just came off of the river fishing all day and were starving. We had no problem waiting till the official opening time, and we did, but the service was horrible as if it was intentional just for showing up early?! The bartender capped it off by questioning the condiment I asked her for( as if it was her business what I was going to eat it with?). Won't be back.
Get the oyster sandwich and a pitcher of Bud and enjoy the warmth, the music and the people who work and visit. The place cannot be beat!
Having tasted bar-b-q all over the South, I find that Woody's has the best RIBS and best Chicken in the bar-b-q business. I rate it an A+ in everything. Service is the best and the people are always friendly.
Clean this time.
