  • kandjonisland reviewMy husband and I ate at Fore Street twice in late summer/early fall 2001, and both times it was FANTASTIC--much better than the previously written reviews indicate. Especially strong were seafood-based dishes, e.g., the Portuguese stew and the mussels with garlic-almond butter. A full meal will certainly lighten your wallet, but the ingredients are impeccably fresh and imaginately put together. Fore Street beats anything we've had in Boston, including the top-ranked Aujourd'Hui.

  • dorothyb reviewI wonder if the reviewer went to the same restaurant. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was interesting, but noisy. There were no items on the menu under $8.00.

  • diner001 reviewThis restaurant is two floors. Upstairs is casual and downstairs formal. Downstairs is where my ratings are based. Nothing memorable! diner001

  • Maddie C.The best roasted chicken you'll find anywhere.

  • Caroline O.Fantastic, plump mussels. Even though they're on the appetizer side of the menu, they're filling enough as an entree with a salad.

    55555 by Caroline O.

  • TrevorWonderfully spacious post-industrial interior with quality service. Drinks were excellent and the seafood wonderfully fresh and inventive. Pork Belly was ludicrously tasty.

  • Brett M.A unique industrial space and a kitchen in the middle of the dining room make this a boisterous meal, full of textured dishes and a menu that changes daily. Bar area is open seating with a full menu.

  • Tamara H.Fore Street's market-driven, changes-daily menu is amazing, which makes for long waits. Make a reservation a day in advance, or put your name on the list right at 5, if you want to eat before 9 p.m.

  • Mike B.Ate here for wife's birthday and food was horrible. Fish overcooked, pork almost raw, steak rancid. Cooks looked VERY young. Service was very good, terrible shame that food was awful.

  • From AwayThe open kitchen is stunning and cozy, and Fore Street's James Beard award-winning dedication to local food is commendable. Mussels and a glass of wine at the bar are always an excellent bet.
