MASU Reviews
Chirashi was great. Rice was well seasoned & fish was super fresh. Also, strangely, the ramen here is fantastic.
by Natalie K.
I really liked the Japanista roll, and the Shiso Fine cocktail was great. The rest of the rolls were meh, the steak was tough, and they were out of oyster shooters.
by Audrie Weston
Everything is so good! Dessert was out of this world, Ginger, Black Sesame and Green Tea gelato!
by Enrique G.
You probably haven't heard of it, but you're going to love it.
by Whit C
While the sushi was decent, the staff wasn't very friendly or informative when I had questions about the menu. Not the best experience here!
by CRUZ M.
Service, sushi, miso and sake selection. Top notch! Sit at the sushi bar 🍣

by Nelly L.
High quality nigiri at great prices during happy hour.
by Tom C
Try and nab a seat at the sushi bar and ask the chefs for recommendations for what's good that day. You won't be disappointed.
by Charles K.
There are two options here: omakase and chirashi. Everything else is great, but these two are amazing.
by Matt A.
Smoked chinook is amazing. I dream about it.
by Michael P.
Great pricing on their 1.8l bottles.
by Paul W.
Fall/winter moves: Matsutake consommé, oceangoing trout sashimi, chef's choice chirashi sashimi + anything else on handwritten daily sushi bar specials. Highly recommended. Sake selection not bad.
by AD N.
The hello kitty is great. Not too sweet and not as frilly as the name implies. :)
by Camilla C.
The caterpillar roll is a must... You think it's just the same ol' but it's different. Melts in your mouth. The other tips are right, St. Helens roll is amazing (hot roll, temp wise).
by Camilla C.
Minimalist bowl of ramen packed with great taste.
by Sounun T.
Fresh uni on Tuesdays. Only uni I've ever eaten that I've liked.
by Melody T.
Charlie is the best bartender. Try the crab salad or morels with giant clams if you want something different!
by Lucia L.
I guess they do have sushi rolls here. My menu was just odd. It's pretty tasty and they have good service.
by Amy V.
They "don't do discounts of any kind." No check-in discounts. No matter what the app says.
by Rick C.
Try the chirashi. Like sashimi, but over a bowl of rice and veggies. Consistently delicious.
by Matt A.
Melt in your mouth sushi! Best I've had in Portland.
by Susan M.
Ask for the Omakase from Chef Ryan.
by Paul W.
For Ikura lovers, get the Ikura Bowl. Love the Chirashi. Unfortunately, it's all very overpriced.
by Paloma G.
Great environment, awesome sushi. Good selection of saki.
by Chase F.
This place has great reviews but I was very disappointed - bland sushi and sashimi. Not special and certainly not worth the price. Don't eat here.
by Raven K.
Calamari is the best I've had.
by Lauren C.
Sushi must suck in Portland if people think this place is good. Average quality fish. 100% not worth the price.
by Matthew K.
Order the Death by Sushi. And the Lotus Roll. Actually, everything else too. All of it. The lot. It's all incredible.
by Andy M.
Judging on the fish and chefs alone, this is the best sushi in Portland.
by Matt A.
Far and away one of the best sushi spots in Portland, with an extensive sake menu.
by Rob B.
Get the calamari! It's amazing! Best we've had.
by Spartan Race

Hello Kitty cocktail was very very good for a fruity drink. Had the Pearl Roll, was pretty simple but very fresh and well-made. Sweet chili sauce was amazing.

Don't believe Annie K. Ume Shiso roll is barf-inducing.
by Rebecca G.
Best sushi in Portland! Ume Shiso roll is perfection.
by Annie K.
The Asterix Gimlet, Tokyo Drop, and Masu Mojito are all fabulous (if you're into sweet drinks). Holladay roll is fresh and light, unlike any other I've had. Bobby Lo roll also unique, delicate.
by Mike D.
Pearl roll

Go to Masu and order a Vesper Martini. This place makes them the best!
by jacob h.
Maker's Cup is delish. Also sit at the sushi bar--right side--and chat it up with Tristan.
by Farra T.
Service was pretty snotty. Sushi was ok
by Scott B.
Order the Squeel. Get an extra side of fantasy sauce. I'm salivating just thinking about it.
by Christine B.
The squeel roll is the best! It's also on their happy hour menu.
by Kacey T.
Gotta try the fantasy sauce.
by Jamie D.
