Good god. The slow burn was hands down one of the tastiest breakfasts I've ever had the pleasure of eating
by Thomis H
Drinks:: Talk about Wow! my fiance even did a fist pump at the Bloody Mary :-) he doesn't like beef jerky, but said this Bloody Mary with the beef jerky is money! The Mimosa is clean, crisp, & light.
by Kaela B
The cinnamon bun with pecan glaze, oh my goodness. Crunchy on the outside, gooey on the inside, and the more you got to the center, the warmer and softer it got. Perfection!
by Kaela B
Fiance got the WT. His egg were cooked to Perfection, the biscuit was delicious, and the gravy is out of this world. Same feeling on potatoes, lackluster. Overall nine out of ten for this dish!
by Kaela B
Ordered the salmon benedict. Wasn't a fan, surprised. The Hollandaise sauce, missing something, & the smoked salmon was too strong. Even the potatoes were lackluster. Disappointed. Get the WT instead!
by Kaela B
It's good. Not good enough to try it again though. The home fries were the best part of the plate.

Get the Fried Chicken or the Whole Hog

Veg breakfast was great, so was service.

Get the homemade sausage!
by Brenden B.
Great service and selection of great good.
by Patrick S.
Everything I've had has been good. They were damn near empty during snowpacalypse. So the service was fantastic.
by Ryan Howey
Jerky is tasty, but chewy. Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon was good, not sure if I liked the bones in it though.
by Rick V
The things they make here should be illegal. Bloody Maries with beef jerky. Omelettes. Potatoes. Sweet potato pancakes. It's insane. Indulge once a year, if you can.

Recommend to go on a week night. Love it.
by Bruce Winert
Good food, nice staff. Have a reservation if you don't want to wait an hour.

Chef Chris DiMinno eats here on his nights off. He loves the The Slow Burn.
by Chefs Feed
Excellent food! Sit at the Chef's Counter so you can watch them cook.
by Dave B.
Brunch was underwhelming, the service was aloof, and the beef jerky like the chewiest leather. The fried chicken was good, but there are better places to eat in Portland.
by Shrinidhi S.
House made beef jerky = meat candy.
by Rachael J
Ask your server they'll tell what's best in the menu.

You'll get super-diarrhea.

Epic as always. Sausage is exceptional!
by Danielle D.
Amazing! Such hood good and a good variety too. This is our seen on time here. Sit away from the door when it's cold since the seating area is pretty small.
by Shane S.
Excellent breading on their fried chicken. Jerky was also done well. The pear salad with honey and walnuts had pears that were prepared with delicacy. Would come here again for the chicken.
by Amy V.
Chicken fried steak was yummalicious.
by Justin M.
Been here for breakfast lunch and dinner. I keep trying to like it, but I've been disappointed every time.
by Midnight M.
Chef's counter is a great place to watch the action
by Laura B.
Seriously underwhelmed. Server was bored/rude when asked for recommendations. Food was expensive for the size/taste. I hope their breakfasts are better because their dinner menu was disappointing.
by Liante L.
Excellent Honey Mustard Wings! Best I've had!
by Martin C.
The buttermilk biscuits are DELICIOUS
by Adelyn F.
The WT breakfast is yummy! Their biscuits are the best.
by Mindi L.
Skip the burger: tough, underseasoned and always well-done, regardless of what was ordered. Low point of an otherwise tasty menu.
by Emma B.
If you're there for dinner, get the fried chicken. Shhhhh, just get the fried chicken, then the pudding trio dessert. DON'T ARGUE WITH ME. F'real.
by Drew B.
Order 'The Whole Hog', and eat it all! Hog Heaven!
by Todd R.
The shrimp and grit breakfast is off the hook!
by Sophinette
Well from start to finish that was a pretty awful time.
by Robert T.
$6 for half a can of baked beans. Still burping up the chicken wings!
by James G.
If the dessert menu includes sour cherry pie & Maker's Mark vanilla ice cream, get it!
by Susy M.
Rude rude rude, bitches

Try the Pork Face Pancetta, pork shoulder, and country-fried pigs ear with egg and pork liquor.
by Suzanne M.
One of the slowest restaurants in Portland.
by Uber C.
Order the clams and the fried chicken!
by Okimak
Sundaty and fried chicken are a match made in heaven. When in season, must get rhubarb pie with caramel ice cream, best I have ever had!
by Lee B.
Everything on the brunch menu is fantastic but the slow burn is where my heart truly lies. The morning crew is super fantastic and great with our daughter.
by Jennie S.
Go for the eggs benedict. Perfect eggs, sauce and biscuit combo. Sop it up with the potatoes... goodness....
by Matt S.
12-1230 PM on Sundays the seats free up!
by Ted C.
The Country Cat is all about American food, prepared by a chef, Adam Sappington, who understands the nuances of old world cuisine. The fried chicken here is out of control. [Eater 38 Member]

If you like a savory breakfast, order the Campfire Breakfast. Barbecue flavor, honey butter for your rustic cornbread, and tender, juicy meat.
by Brittany W.
At this new eastside bastion of regional American cuisine, the Midwest and the Northwest collude on the plate.
by Portland Monthly
Devour the fried chicken with the collard greens and honey biscuit. It's amaaaazing.
by Katie O.
Secretly uncrowded on Saturday mornings for brunch. Excellent service, especially if you grab a seat at the bar. Delicious Bloody Mary's.
by Amber C.
Brunch! Good!
by mark s.
Breakfast is pretty good... side of Bacon is worth it, but you'll want to split it. :-)
by LocalTwit
Check out their Wing Wednesday - 10 wings plus a Draft Beer for only $12!

There are worse ways to start your day than with the grilled cheese and hickory smoked tomato soup.
