Don't get me wrong...Park Avenue is a lovely place and I frequent several of the restaurants in the area, but I just to ask everyone...why is Jines always crowded? Why have mediocre greek food when Sinbad's is down the street and Mykonos, Olive Tree, and Basha close by? Why accept overpriced and average breakfast fare when the delicious Highland Park Diner's Pancakes are so magnificent? Heck, the pancakes at Mark's on Monroe Ave. are much better than at Jines, and you can get those with eggs, coffee, and bacon for $3.15 any morning of the week. I know that Jines is in a wonderful location, and I suspect that this alone is the reason it does the business that it does. But if you're looking for either one of the cuisines that this place serves, I urge you to look elsewhere.

The crab cake benedict was good and so was the coffee, but it's a bit pricey for the portions.

Avoid. Food was cold, tasted fair. My wife found a large insect in her meal the owner became defensive and confrontational.

Well diverse menu. Love all the options! Especially from the brunch selection!! I.e. The various Egg Benedict
by Diane C.
Found a piece of plastic glove in omelette from kitchen. Server apologetic, owner confrontational and little defensive when questioned. Food good but disappointed with owner response.

Great food, wonderful family owned and run restaurant, diner fare that is better than your typical diner, great special entrees. A favorite go-to-place.
by Matt Fleig
Awesome variety of eggs Benedict, especially the delicious eggs Alaska (crab, albeit faux-style with surimi). Sneak in at the right times for breakfast, and you can even get vanilla porter with it!

Best breakfast in the city.

Some vegan lunch & dinner items marked on the menu. Typical vegan breakfast diner options. The spinach tofu burger is great, but the dressing isn't vegan, so leave it off.
