  • Great sake selection. Everything I tried was amazing. Order the zaru tofu (melts in your mouth) and chicken meat balls.

  • Greg Dunmore, chef of Nojo, eats here on his nights off. He loves the Aji no hiraki.

  • It's expensive but really tasty food. Make sure you eat something before.

  • The sake server knows everything about them. Don't hesitate to ask for his opinion.

  • The kakiage (fried vegetables and shrimp) are so good--be sure to sprinkle the green tea salt on top.

  • It's subtle, but the crown jewel is the zaru tofu, custardy housemade tofu that comes with accompaniments like bonito flakes & ginger. Start with a sprinkling of salt to fully appreciate its flavor.

  • Tofu!!! Might silky;)

  • This lovely Mission izakaya is a must for its pristine chawanmushi, homemade tofu, chicken karaage, and other delights. The superb food is worth the extra cost. [Eater 38 Member]

  • Everything I had was good and super interesting. Probably my favorite Japanese in the city.

    55555 by Will Brown

  • This classy, minimalist Japanese focuses on the finer aspects of Japanese cuisine. Their silky, home-made tofu and sea urchin infused egg custard "chawanmushi" are popular favorites.

  • Beef tataki, tempura and yakitori.

    55555 by Phil N.

  • Authentic! If you are sake beginner, 田酒 Denshu is good choice. My favorite menu are Negima, Chawan-mushi, Sauteed duck breast, Seasonal vegetable rice, and Yaki Omusubi.

  • Really can't go wrong here! Authentic, with super knowledgeable staff. Great for a slower paced meal. Get the Kakiage!

  • Cleanse and dry your bottom on the toilet, imported straight from Japan!

  • The size and cost of the different dishes is very uneven-the skewers are cheap and great, the mackerel is expensive and so-so. The karaage is amazing.

  • Chicken katsu and tofu buns are on 7x7's Big Eat 2013.

    55555 by Anton S.

  • This is the best place to eat in the whole city. I just ate a deep fried smelt and it was top notch, balls to the wall, the best food I've ever had. Do yourself a favor and eat here and maybe marry it
