  • ChefMozThis was a nice place for good Italian food years ago, but something has changed. I think their cook must have quit. The owners are nice people, but they are both Greek, and the food is tasting more like Greek food with a hint of Italian. I ordered a meat lasagna, but when it came to the table it was all white. No sauce and no meat!! When I asked the owner, Nick, why the meat lasagna was without meat, he came back to my table with a dish of tomato sauce and some finely ground hamburger in it, then spooned it over the top. I felt insulted by this. I ordered minestrone soup. When it arrived, I had to ask the waiter why he brought me a bowl of vegetable soup when I asked for minestrone. He got the owner, who laughed at the fact that, as he admits, it is more a weak vegetable soup. I am sorry, but when I frequent an Italian restaurant with Italian items described on the menu, I expect Italian cuisine, and not a Greek version of American with an Italian name. For the past eight years, I have given them a try, and I am not surprised anymore that I am the only patron in there, with maybe four others, at any hour I choose to come in. I have to say that I won't be eating at Capri any more when there are so many wonderful Italian restaurants in San Francisco. Maybe the owners should try serving Greek food under a different name than Capri.

  • ChefMozWe absolutely love this place. We've been eating there for years. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but the food is wonderful, the service is great and the owners are about the nicest people we've met. They always come by the table to chat for a minute and say hi.
