  • ChefMozEllas is casual and understated - just like the owners: Chef Danny Wilser and Robert Merryman. The food and service are consistently excellent. The menu changes weekly and ranges from meatloaf and mashed potatoes to poached sea bass to arugula-pear salad. All baked goods are made fresh daily at the restaurant.Try the desserts, especially the pies and cakes - they are TDF.Weekend brunch at Ellas is a San Francisco tradition. Become part of the counter culture at the counter and watch the fun and talk with the chef as he prepares your meal.

  • The only great things here are the freshly-squeezed OJ and service. The food is mediocre with a bourgeois clientele.

  • The eggs benedict comes and goes here, but when it is on the menu, we suggest you order three. The biscuits are soft and flaky, while the dish as a whole has a pesto flair, accented with prosciutto.

  • Get there as soon as they open or after 1 p.m. to avoid the lines. We love the chicken hash and the pancakes (please bring back the peach and sour cream ones!).

  • Great breakfast spot if you can tolerate the looong wait and not great service. Highly recommend the Chicken Hash!

  • Chicken hash. Enough said.

  • It may be the best breakfast spot in the neighborhood. Weekday mornings are the best time to visit--weekends get crowded.

  • Blood OJ was amazing. Chicken hash just OK, think I will try pancakes next time.

  • Buttermilk biscuits ftw. Also you can buy the pancakes individually instead of the full stack (which can sometimes be overwhelming).

  • Next time I'm going to order the chicken hash, better than the sausage.

  • If you arr allergic to over privileged white people, stay away. Otherwise, the food is delightful.
