Ellas is casual and understated - just like the owners: Chef Danny Wilser and Robert Merryman. The food and service are consistently excellent. The menu changes weekly and ranges from meatloaf and mashed potatoes to poached sea bass to arugula-pear salad. All baked goods are made fresh daily at the restaurant.Try the desserts, especially the pies and cakes - they are TDF.Weekend brunch at Ellas is a San Francisco tradition. Become part of the counter culture at the counter and watch the fun and talk with the chef as he prepares your meal. by ChefMoz.org
The only great things here are the freshly-squeezed OJ and service. The food is mediocre with a bourgeois clientele.by Maybelle M.
The eggs benedict comes and goes here, but when it is on the menu, we suggest you order three. The biscuits are soft and flaky, while the dish as a whole has a pesto flair, accented with prosciutto.by 7x7 M.
