Huey's New Orleans Cafe Reviews
A great place to eat. The only place I have found traditional New Orlean's items as good was New Orleans. Don't miss the breakfast. We spent 5 days in the city and ate their atleast 4 out of the 5 days.
I went to Huey's hoping to get a taste of Savannah cuisine. If this represents Savannah cuisine, I feel bad for the people that live there. The food was mediocre at best. The service was terrible. I had to wait 30 min for onion rings as a starter. I also had to wait 10 min for a bag to take out what I did not eat, and to top everything off, I got really sick and threw up all my food.Needless to say, I do not recommend this place
My husband and I recently ate at Huey's. It was such a negative experience that we returned our food. The waiter was kind. The food was unkind! The shrimp cocktail was strong-tasting, mushing, and not deveined. Even the waiter agreed. The seafood platter was inedible. The cornbread had been warmed in the microwave until mushy, the red beans and rice were cold. What really disappointed me was that I wrote the manager to inform him of the experience. He did not even do us the courtesy of a reply! If Huey's is representative of Savannah, we won't be back.
Me and my husband ate breakfest hear. The food was great. My favorite thing to get is the New Orleans frech toast it is to die for! The atmosphere is great because it is on river street and you have a view of the river. What makes it so great is that the resturante is all glass in the front.
A WONDERFUL RESTAURANT!! Great dining on the historic Savannah riverfront. Reasonable prices, excellent food, friendly staff and a relaxing view with a cheerful atmosphere. I HIGHLY recommend!!!
Very average food with a great view of the river. Go only if you are on River street and don't want to eat really good food. Just for tourists and should be avoided as there are so many other really great restaurants in Savannah.
Can't wait to get back to Savannah! Will be having breakfast ay Huey's a week from Saturday. A `must eat there` rating as far as we are concerned. I don't understand the negative reviews - we have never had a bad meal there and the staff has always been GREAT! Happy Eating!
Find the previous reviews confusing... Beignets were super doughy and disappointing. Gumbo was all heat with no flavor and over cooked dry sausage.

Definitely get the shrimp and grits and the crawfish étouffée. The fried green tomatoes are delicious as well and finish off with some beignets.

Roast Beef Po Boy!
The roast beef po boy is as close as you can get to New Orleans on the coast! Mmm mmm good! Geaux Huey's!

Great fried green tomatoes. Subpar shrimp and grits with unappetizing dried herbs and boring sauce. They're super nice about dogs on the patio, though. Great view as well.

New Orleans favorites, including beignets coated with a thick layer of powered sugar can be found at this riverfront restaurant in Savannah.

Sat at bar for 10 minutes after bartender hurriedly gave us menus. Looked at us often but didn't take our order or further acknowledged our presence so we left.

Get a seat outside for some beautiful views and some excellent people watching. The food at lunch was just okay. This would probably be a better place for brunch or beers.
