  • KristaPhipps reviewI got the filet mignon and there was a piece of hair on it..and when I commented on this..my waitress jockingly responded `that is steak hair`..and did not bring out a different steak....it was horribly expensive, not worth the wait, and my wife commented on how horrible her fish was..I do not reccommend this torture to anybody

  • KristaPhipps reviewHorribly busy and expensive. Moderatley good steak however not worth the wait.

  • angei131 reviewGreat restaurant. Expensive, yet affordable food. Good, dim atmosphere. Busy.

  • duBois reviewHuge dissapointment. Anyone that knows what a great steak is - don't bother with the Met!! Cheesy `sports bar` atmosphere in the bar, where I dined. My Cowboy Ribeye was 50% fat and tasted like it had been marinated in Ah-So sauce. A total waste of $96, will stick to Morton's next time in Seattle.

  • vbhunt reviewWe'd always heard about the great food one could experience at the Metropolitan Grill. Unfortunately the food was not good enough to overcome the very poor and rude service our friends and we received last August of 2005. Having waited for a special occasion to dine at the Met., we realized afterward that with the way in which we were treated at the Met., we could have had a far more enjoyable experience at Applebee's without the aggravation (not good for one's digestion) than what we had experienced at the Met. Before you switch to a more favorable review, please be aware that in our experience, the waiter could not have been more insulting if he had tried to be. Our story must be told, because there are just too many other good reviews about this restaurant. Yes, we complained to the management and reported the waiter to them. However, we did not want nor did we receive any compensation for a lousy time. It all started when we sat down to look at the wine list. When we asked for a suggestion from him about a good wine to drink with our $500 dinner, he just walked away! We just asked his opinion. Was that so terrible? He came back about 15 MINUTES later and asked if we had made up our minds yet! We were aghast at his lack of courtesy. Our only fault was that we stayed there throughout the evening and blew half a grand! We gathered that we must have asked a very stupid question. Or, it could be that we threw him for a loop when he did not have an answer for us. Perhaps the restaurant would like to educate the help a bit more to assist in future requests from its patrons. Anyway, we walked away $500 poorer that evening, but had gained the knowledge that we would never, ever, recommend this restaurant to any friend! Maryann Weis Port Orchard, WA

  • bryn_johnson reviewWomen diners beware! I have been to the Met several times and when I arrive with a man I am treated like a queen and receive excellent service. When I arrive with another woman, I am treated with terrible service from the wait staff. They seem to want to rush us through dinner like we were diseased. I will never go back. At the Met's high prices, women and any diner deserves better service.

  • waynevancil reviewThis is the restaurant that our family uses as the standard of excellence when rating all other restaurants we visit. Only the Red Fish Grill in New Orleans has matched them in our estimation--and, of course, we don't know how the Red Fish Grill has survived Katrina. We had planned to visit the Metropolitan Grill on a good friend's recommendation while in Seattle for a Mariner's game. On the walk to the restaurant a driving rain came out of nowhere and soaked us all to the skin. There we were, with our kids of varying ages, all looking like drowned rats and with nothing to change into. I suggested we leave the Grill for another visit, but my husband insisted we give them a try since we were right at their doorstep. We ventured in and were greeted warmly and without any fuss. In fact, somehow all the staff managed to give no notice of our REALLY dripping wet condition. They didn't even use the old `sit them in the back corner` trick we expected, but acted as if this was the normal state of their best customers. The food was wonderful, of course and we enjoyed all the pictures of celebrities on their walls (especially the one of Clyde Drexler, since we hail from Oregon), but they'll have our undying loyalty because of the way they rescued from a continued drenching and treated us to uncommon hospitality. We have recommended them to many friends in the ensuing years and look forward to visiting them when we're in Seattle.

  • 4evar reviewMy husband and I eat here at least once a year. It has a great bar for people who want the Metro experience but not the price. The seafood plate is wonderful. This is a must if you are in Seattle. Larrie

  • panndora88 reviewWhen I first met my husband he suggested we go to The Metro Grill. Several years later on our honeymoon we went. Oh my gosh. If he would've taken me sooner I would've married him sooner. It was better then he described. Food, service, and husband were wonderful.

  • MarkHorn reviewBeen there three times, got in the last time only. Service was curt and not very hospitable. Noise level was tremendous. Food was very expensive and very average. To spend almost $50 for a piece of meat and a potato was a bit over resonable expense. I have had better meat from the grocery store, cooked at home.

  • vbhunt reviewWe really enjoy the drive down to Seattle just to dine at, The Met. We're originaly from Montana, and this is the best steak house known to date. Truly exceptional! Thank You!

  • panndora88 reviewMy first and only experience at the Met was last evening. Ordered salad with shrimp to start and the salad was very good. I ordered the New York steak. Very large piece, but very dry and bland. For the amount of money spent, I could have purhased the same cut of meat and cooked it myself and it would have tasted better. Very disappointed.

  • billyjackson reviewWould never go there again. What a joke. My life is too short to wait in line, why did I bother making a reservation - we had to wait over an hour past it to even be seated. And nobody seems to care.

  • chelery reviewArrived 30 minutes early! Not seated until almost 1 hour after reservation! Waited 30 minutes for drinks. Seating booth was very cramped space. They did not offer to take our coats! I will not return to this restaurant!
