No idea why it's under "North Indian restaurants" in this all. It's as South Indian as South Indian gets. Loved it! Dosas, vada sambar and the lunch Thali. ❤️
by Ashwin T
Delicious south Indian food. My favorite is combo1 - little bit of best stuff. Though you have to let go off any expectation of good service. It is un-emotional type, can be very slow on busy times.
by Ravneet S
Mysore Masala Dosa
by urmilesh d.
Food is cheap.. Revamped ambience is good but the wait time is insane..
by Anuja C.
Best sambar in town. Hands down.
by Anirudh s
Totally remodeled the place. Very neat and nice. Food as always - the best.
by Shravan D
Adai aviyal for something different.
by Krishna P
Great customer service. We lost our fitbit near the parking lot yesterday and a gentleman from the staff had securely kept it till we called and returned.
by Shyam R.
Awesome Sambar/Rasa Vada. Chutney makes all the difference in the world with dosa/idli and these guys have it spot on.
by Ridhish K
Food is ok but the premises are Not clean.
by Srikanth P
Masala dosa & authentic sambhar will leave you with a smile on!
by Raina J
Too spicy, too spicy, too spicy...
by Jacques D
Thali with chapati is a great lunch option. Love all the chickpea dishes and dosas.
by Camila V
Always crowded!!! But love eating out there. The one thing i hate about this place is tables are so close to each other that you can just eat off your neighbour's plate
by Shweta A.
Good for south Indian food. Not that spicy, but would still recommend specifying your spice level. Any Thali (or) 2-to-3-course-indian-meal (South or North) can easily fill one's appetite.
by Srikanth K.
Worst service ever.
by Anand Thangaraju
Dosas are excellent! Very authentic and delicious South Indian food!
by Siddarth Prakash
Tiffin items are good but wasn't impressed with their white chutney. Executive meal is so filling, go for it if you are dead hungry. Must try their Poori and aalu sabzi.
by Vivek N
Kaara dosa is awesome..
by b k.
Saravana spl meal is a luxurious meal with a lot to offer. Loved it! Do try rava dosas, ghee pongal and buttermilk here. Kaima idli was a disaster though!
by Tripti Burman
3/5 - dishes were okay, not a big fan of tamil food. A lot of ppl visit this place, but i didn't this place that great
by Sreepathi P Karnam
Great selection for the south indian palette. Wide variety from dosas, upmas to full meals. A culinary paradise for south indians. Service is sloppy sometimes, but worth the time n money.
by Santosh M
Food! Good food! Lota of food!
by Karla L.
Awesome food! Delighted to eat at the pure vegetarian restaurant. Parota and filter coffee are brilliant...
by Neha Jain
For a traditional South Indian meal, go with Sambar vada and an onion chili masala dosa. (For those, this place is authentic as you can get.)
by Madhu M.
Butter milk, 14pc idli, masala dosa, South Indian filter coffee.best thing ever :-)
by Pradeep N.
Awesome food! Try the Rava dosa...
by Alok P
Good South Indian food! Global chain
by Harsh V
Kaima idli is the best here. Never miss it if you visit this place. Their filter coffee is also awesome. Their dosas are mediocre but they make good uttappams
by Mohan G.
Service is horrible !
by Ameya Mahajan
Horrible slow service, and the dosa was burnt.
by Deepti S.
14 mini idlis. Dosa has excess pepper
by Sreenarayan A
The badam kheer is really bad, don't even try it.
by Prashanth S
Typical. They are conservative when it comes to serving chutney, don't forget to ask while you order!
by Srikanth N.
It's nice... I liked the sambar but I still prefer anjappar chettinad :)
by Himanshu
Awesome joint for South Indian food. love mini idli, dosa and South Indian coffee.
by Ajay T.
They don't serve Jain sambar. Must start that !
by Parashar P.
Decided to give this place another shot and turned out to be a terrible mistake. Strand of hair in my food to add to the terrible service. They are just degrading the brand name.
by Sunil J.
Karakulzhampu in meal is soo...good.
by Jothikumar D.
Cash only for less than 10 bucks. Just VISA or Mastercard. :-(
by Venkatesh A.
My menu is always... 14 idly, onion rava, & coffee!
by Pugazh T.
Medu Vada, Kaima Idly, and Uttappam here is the best you can get away from home. +1
by Bhavik S.
Asusual Same awesome food..
by Nischit O.
Not as good as Chennai HSB. Not even close.
by Sandhya G.
Get the executive meals, the best in town.
by Santhosh R.
Rava Khichadi - good Sambhar rice - bad
by Vijay V.
Worst customer service; average food. Mathura Indian cuisine which is 2 mins drive from here is excellent. Do yourself a favor and go there
by Rajagopal N.
Don't expect customer service, my dish arrived after my husband was done with his dinner. Server gave excuse that my dosa take time, well you could start my husband dish later :)
by Swati S.
Try Executive thai. Thayir vada.
by Venu K.
Greasy food, take a peek into their kitchen and you'll never dine here. They wash spoons by dipping it in hot water. Yuck! Never coming back here
by Sunil J.
The ambience is very good and service is good too. The food quality and taste is pretty good as you would expect of Saravana Bhavan. They have good south indian sweets in their shop as well.
by Senthil K.
Onion Rava Masala Dosa
by My B.
Great food, but incredibly rude. Pick your poison.
by Sahana U.
The Masala dosa was good but the decor needs updating.
by Moushumi G.
Do not buy pricey snacks out here! The roasted peanut packet was charged for $5.40 ...almost double than what I thought wud have been :(
by Vilas S.
Min $15 for credit card tx, so carry cash :( ...thali 12.5 w tax however tasted good and filling (lot of rice though, 2 chappatees or puri)
by Vilas S.
Food is ok. Mysore bonda not fresh. Service is poor.
by Rohan S.
While food is good and maybe one of the best south indian in south bay, service really sucks
by Rusya T.
Good food but I do not find this place clean enough!
by Arpana P.
If u r up for spicy food, try the khaima idly - it is awesomely spicy...
by b k.
Try sambar vada, rava dosa.
by Karthik V.
Ghee pongal super machi
by Rajiv S.
This place is the antithesis of what I have known SB to be. It is not the cleanest. i saw cobwebs next to my table. The food was average, service slow and in general the place sucks. 2/5. Have combo 1
by Ramakrishnan K.
Amazing freaking south Indian food. Mixed vegetable parotta rocks. The sandwich dosa isn't too bad either. Service kind of sucks though if you don't speak in Tamil.
by Amritha P.
Definitely try mixed vegetable parotta (MVP)
by Chintan P.
If you can stand a little spicy food, the kaima idly here is fantastic!
by Mandar P.
Channa Batura is really good and not too spicy :) And it's HUGE.
by Guilherme C.
Cauliflower varuval FTW!
by Vivek
Get the Kara Dosa if you like spice. The food is amazing but the service is terrible.
by Radhika B.
Kaima idly is highly recommended!

Even pre Indian eating time of 7 pm has a wait now.:-)
by p×π€€t G.
Amazing southern Indian.
by Alex R.
14 pieces mini idly are awesome !
by Meetu S.
Try out Saravana Special Meals to experience a truly complete south-indian lunch. Includes the delicious Vatha Kuzhambu :) Rice is however, pretty small in quantity esp if you are hungry enough!
by Params R.
Kaima idly is great during lunch hours mostly (barring few days when they mess it up)! Ordering the same for dinner is a bad idea, they give you stale stuff..
by Params R.
Not what you expect from a typical Saravana Bhavan chain, but some where in the region of Acceptable.
by Hemanth K.
Good south indian food. Quality is better now and so is the pricing.
by Prashanth R.
The tomato soup is out of this world! And if you like spicy, you'll love kaima idly!
by Beth S.
EAT THE FOOD
by Nitin B.
Great South Indian Food, Dont forget Rava Masala Dosa
by Govind K.
super authentic food :). If you're a newbie to South Indian food (and dont mind spicy food), try the paratta (with a side order of raita), paper masala dosa and a mango lassi drink!
by Maithreyi R.
Great tasting food, but terrible customer service.
by Parth D.
The Spring Dosa tastes bad. Vegetables are uncooked and taste bad because of the chaat masala they use
by Sunil J.
Don't miss the sambar vada.
by Sunil J.
Sorry for multi-posting. Foursquare doesn't prevent this
by Raja D.
Great dosas but because this place is always busy, service is getting worse. Also the amount of filling is one-third what it was 2 years ago. I'm not full from my meal.

ive had their dosas.. most are good (masala) some not so good. They used to have pictures on their menu which made it easier to order. Today: tomato onion chilli uthappam.. yummy. Service is poor.
by edi h.
Try out their mini ghee idlis, yummy. Don't try their dosas, not crispy not tasty they donno how to make it
by Sushma N.
I strongly suggest the combo 1.
by Christopher B.
Would feel like you're in India. Except one of the waiter, you won't spot a Caucasian :)
by Aishwarya S.
Delhi's hangout in Bay area....the best South Indian place! Try everything on the menu..every thing tastes heavenly! :)
by Aishwarya S.
Saravana special dosa is very spicy and very good.
by Hans V.
If you like idly, try kaima idly (:
by Sahil N
My friend ordered 14 piece idly it never came :)... service is not good .. Overall not pleasant experience
by Sumit S.
Order the special meal. Great South Indian Food.
